Christmas is many men's favorite time of the year and not only because of the presents you will receive. There is nothing in the world that would beat Christmas spirit.
It all begins in the last week of November when people start decorating their houses with the simplest to the most exaggerated Christmas lights and other decorations. After that, radio and stores start playing Christmas songs. Some would say that there is nothing more annoying than hearing All I Want For Christmas twenty times during one day. Nevertheless, Christmas spirit really is remarkable.
Tooru hadn't been overdoing the decoration part in her house. She didn't really pay much attention to that part but as an artist, of course everything looked aesthetically pleasing. There were lights on the window ledge. With the few candles on the living room table and the fireplace that had a garland on top of it, those were the only lights in the room, giving it just right lighting for the Christmas mood. There was a Christmas tree on the corner with red-gold themed decorations on it and few presents underneath.
She was standing in the living room and looking at what she had came up, not quite satisfied with it. If there was more time, she would take all the decorations up and put them up again differently - but there was no time. Suddenly someone came and put hands around her waist.
"It looks perfect," Jooheon said, resting his chin against Tooru's shoulder. Her strained face turned into a smile even though she couldn't agree - there was just something really wrong with the decorations.
"Shit!" she then escaped Jooheon's hold after getting to enjoy it for only a while and ran to the kitchen. "The cookies!" she quickly opened the oven and took out the cookies that luckily weren't burned yet.
"They look good," Jooheon said and reached for one but Tooru slapped his hand away.
"Not yet. Wait until our friends are here," she started putting the cookies to a plate. To celebrate their first Christmas after moving to live together, they had decided to invite two of their friends.
"But they won't arrive for another ten minutes," Jooheon groaned, following as Tooru took the cookies to the living room table. Then a door bell ring.
