Prologue...

Liliana

"Ahh, welcome dear, we've been awaiting your arrival." I was welcomed in to the the ball room, the attention of the other Prince's and princesses was all on me. My father lowly cleared his throat, waiting for me to wave elegantly like any princess is supposed to. And I did just that, one hand gently swaying as the other stayed clutched on to the bottom of my ten pound dress.

It was a must that I always followed the proper" princess" rules that my mother makes me recite to her before every formal outting.

The crowd cleared the way as more of my parents neighboring friends followed after us. Every second it took me to get to the table, I was being watched. The polite butler bowed to me and pulled out my chair for me, and I sat down, comfortably as I could.

My father sat down next to me, with a less than pleased look on his face. " Next time darling, don't walk so quickly, remember what you were taught."

"Yes Father, I remember." Is what I said but I wanted to call him all kind of profanities that should never be spoken to any one.

It's so annoying to be reminded how I'm supposed to act, how to talk, how to eat, and how to to walk. I just wish everyone would shut up.

"Hello Liliana, it's been such a long time since we last spoke." What a surprise, the girl every prince has had an encounter with.

"Hello Bella, Nice seeing you again."

The tea was served and we placed our napkins on our laps, lightly taking sips as we chatted.

"I heard from Lessa that Riley is supposed to show to night, he wants to show us girls the mustang he raised on his own." She flushed red, she's always had a thing for Riley, or should I say Prince Salias.

"I also heard his brother was caught up there servants dress after the Jr. Ball last month."

The hushed conversations soon stopped and my grandmother stood at the podium, crown high on her head and she smiled gently as she introduced Queen Salias and her Son, Riley. Bella clapped gladly as she smiled trying to get his attention with het stupid desperation.

Mrs. Salias spoke a few words before Riley and afterwards they were escorted to our table. Of all the tables it had to be ours.

His mother sat next to mine and he sat on the other side of Bella. He greeted her with a kiss on the hand. When he tried to charm me, I simply looked away and took a sip of my tea.

"Come on Lili, Im just being a gentleman."

"Don't you dare call me Lili, it's Liliana you stupid runt." I scoffed, pushing the tea cup away and glaring at him. My mother shook her head along with my Father giving me a warning look. I knew I'd have to apologize or I'd never hear the end of this.

"Never mind me Riley." I mumbled, a arrogant smirk appearing on his face.

"Well ladies it's about time for the last dance of the night, care to join me before we head out?"

I should have known this was coming.

"Oh Riley, I'd love to dance with you." Bella squealed.

"Pardon me, but I was speaking to Liliana, I think a dance would settle our petty differences." I was silently pleading with my eyes for him to be talking to someone else, anyone but me, but sadly not.

"Go on darling, enjoy yourself." Thank you so much mother for setting me up for disaster.

My hands were loose on his shoulders, but the differences in our height made it impossibly uncomfortable for me to get away from and kind of eye contact.

"I don't know why you insist on being rude Liliana, we could be such good friends." He said with a less than sincere look.

"Oh shut up. You may be able to fool my parents with that nonsense, but I'm not them, so don't even try it Riley." I wanted to push him away so badly but we were in the center of the room, and my parents wouldn't want to be embarrassed.

"Feel lucky that everyone's watching, because I would've stomped on your precious shoes by now." By the grace of God, the song ended. Riley had a blank expression on his face as if he was completely oblivious to how much hatred I have for him.

And if my patents weren't so stupid, they wouldn't allow me to be around a moron like himself.

Everyone began preparing to leave, but he was still holding me. I pushed his hands off, that blank look was still in his eyes as he stared at me.

I wanted to hurt him, his feelings at least, so he would get the picture that I want him to stay away from me.

But it hard to ever get my point across while having to be so Damn perfect all the time......
