It had been a long six months. I had waited and waited for my beloved fiance to return. He had gone over seas, but he promised he would come home in time for our wedding. Our wedding... We had met many years before, yet we didn't become friends until a year later. We both were slow to realize our feelings for each other. Then, finally, the awaited moment came and he proposed. Six months ago he explained to me that he had to go away. Today was the day he would be returning. I stood on the beach as I patiently waited for the ship to appear. Ten minutes after the ship was supposed to come there was no sighting. I kept my hope up, believing that it was just late. Soon, minutes turned into an hour. That hour turned into two. By then I was panicking. As I was about to leave a faint horn blew. I jumped to my feet and strained my eyes to see out into the ocean.
