Lia wasn't alone. After surviving on the island for what felt like years, but what was merely a couple weeks, she had accepted it: she was alone and no help would arrive. The first week by herself was a disaster; after losing them, she was depressed and she drowned in self pity. She laid down on the beach and let her tears fall as she nearly starved herself. She was dying when she finally had the courage and strength to get up and use all the knowledge she learned for survival.

From the past couple weeks she learned how to hunt, set up fires, learned which pond water was clean enough, and most importantly, put the resources she had to good use. She went on for weeks with no one to talk to. She often found herself talking to the wind and telling the birds perched in the trees, fun memories she had when she was younger. There were also the nights when she broke down; she had nothing left, no family, not even any friends she had left behind. There was nothing to live for, but deep down, she hoped there was someone out there looking for her. She knew there wasn't.

But now, she felt like crying, the hope she had buried deep inside resurfaced. There are people here! She hid behind a tall thick tree and held on till her knuckles turned white. Her knees were begging to collapse but she held on. For weeks, she was holding herself up, holding on to the last thread of hope for survival. And now? There are people. Kids. Teenagers. But nonetheless, people. I'm not alone anymore. That's all that matters.

She prepared how she would introduce herself. Hi, I'm Lia. I'm stuck on this island too? No, you sound stupid.

Who are you? I'm Lia. How did you get on this island? She shook her head in frustration. Why the hell does she have to prepare? She couldn't miss this opportunity, there are finally people with her. But in her entire life, she had never seen this many people, let alone, people her age. Her mind began to spin as she thought about the possibilities of what might happen. What if they're dangerous? What if they kill me, cook me, then eat me when they starve?

"Don't be ridiculous, Lia" she told herself. "You know how to hunt. They're not cannibals. What the hell are you thinking-"

    "Hello? Who are you?"

Lia spun around and saw a boy with bright eyes. He had his arm stretched out as if to touch her arm. In a panic, Lia swiftly tried to grab her weapon but when her hands were unable to find it, she grabbed the closest object to her. A rock. She held it above her head, ready to throw.

"W-w-w-woah! WAIT!! I'm not gonna hurt you!" His bright eyes twinkled with fear as his hands were raised to his neck to protect himself. "H-hey. I'm Simon. Don't be scared-" the boy said.

"I'm not scared of you" Lia interrupted with a glare.

"Of course you're not! Um.... I'm Simon....I'm....I'm not gonna hurt you!" The boy-Simon said as he stepped closer toward her. She stepped backwards till her back hit the trunk of the tree. After quickly deciding, she lowered her arm but she still tightly held the rock in her hand.

"Who are you?" Simon asked. He had a curious and concerned look on his soft face as he stared at her. The twinkle in his eyes stayed but fear was replaced with kindness.

The gentle look he gave Lia, convinced her to drop the rock and relax. She released the breath she's been holding and tried to return the kind look. She opened her mouth but no words seem to come out.

"Our plane crashed. We're all stranded. You? What about you? Who are you?" He asked her.

Lia quickly swallowed the fear she had left and stepped away from the tree, her confidence returning. "Lia. My name's Lia. I'm stuck here too. Been stuck here for a long time actually"

He gave her a gentle smile. "Can you help us? Please, the boys are all arguing and none of us know what to do."

Help? Me? Help them? Her hope was once again shattered when she realized they couldn't help her, they were asking help from her. If you help them, it'll be easier to find a way, Lia. You're not alone, anymore. It's a miracle.

"Yeah. Yeah I can help" she finally let out as Simon smiled a big one. "Come" he beckoned her to follow him. She picked up her knife which was lying a few feet from where she was standing and followed Simon to the group of voices.

"Hey guys!" He yelled but no seemed to pay any attention. "I've found someone!"

The fifteen or so boys were all staring at a fight rising between a red-headed and a blonde boy.
"HEY GUYS! Ralph! Jack! Stop! I've found someone!"

The red head and the blonde both turned their heads toward Lia and Simon. The two boys stopped and stared at Lia, their mouths open slightly. "Woah" the blonde one mumbled. By now, all the boys stopped and were now staring at Lia.

"Geez, is this the first time they've seen a girl?" Lia thought.

Another boy stepped beside the red head and nudged him "Dang. Now, I want a piece of that"
