After staying by Toriel's side for years, Frisk got the chance to explore the rest of the Underground.
A few days later...
Frisk, a pacifist, got to the judgment hall, where Sans was waiting for them. Frisk, confused by the presence of the skeleton, walked towards him. The human hoped with all their wills that they wouldn't have to fight their crush.
Since the beginning of the exploration of the underground, Sans was the person Frisk appreciated the most. Always cracking puns, giving them tips... That's why Frisk didn't want to have to fight Sans, even if they would spare him anyway.
"Hey, Sans!" They started
"Hey, kiddo," Sans answered "I wanted to thank you for sparing every monster. But... Do you really want to go to the surface?" He said, his voice full of sorrow
Frisk hesitated for a moment before lying "I am sure."
The seventeen years old human actually didn't. They had a plan, and were determined to make it work, even if it meant leaving her crush behind.
Talking of behind, both of the skeleton and human didn't notice the small flower behind Sans. the plant took no time to act: They quickly plunged a seed trough the skeleton's body. Red liquid flowed out of his body and he fell to the ground.
"SANS!" The human screamed, their eyes full of water with the sight of a pile of bones on the floor.
"Now, little human, I've waited long enough." Flowey's malicious voice echoed trough the judgment hall, "Give me you soul and let me inherit the power to reset!!!" He finished with a sadistic laugh.
"No! You'll never have that power back!" Frisk replied, determined to keep this flower from doing anything bad to this world Frisk likes so much. Even id Frisk never had to use the power Flower was seeking.
"Fine then," Flowey said with a creepy smirk "I'll kill everyone you love!" He continued, "I'll turn your life to HELL!" The small, harmless-looking golden flower threatened. Except for the smirk. That's creepy.
"I won't let you!" Sans stood up. He reached for the plant and cut it off the ground, killing it.
"S-Sans?? You're all right..." Tears of relieving came out of Frisk's closed eyes. "I'm so glad!" They ran into Sans's arms and hugged him tightly. He laughed in response.
"C'mon kid, I don't even have blood..." He commented
"We never know with magic!" Frisk replied hugging Sans tighter
"Hey! Don't hug me so hard, you're going to break my bones! It's pretty much the only thing I have so... I'd appreciate if you didn't." Sans said in a suffocated voice
Seeing how scared Frisk had been, Sans let her hug him, not without making him blush, and started to pet their hair.
Then, he noticed something. Flowey's soul wasn't disappearing. The skeleton's hand went from Frisk's head to the pink-ish soul that was once Flowey's. He handed it to Frisk.
"Here, kiddo. With that, you should be able to pass the barrier." Sans said, full of sadness from being separated from the human he liked so much. "Go ahead, Asgore's waiting." He pushed Frisk's back in the direction of the castle.
EDITED - 219 words to 516. And much less cringy. Old version in a new book for that.
