Trapped

When my friends are sad, they go to the beach or the water park. I'm completely different; I eat and study history... Every single aspect of it. Which explains why I only have two friends, Bonnie and Lara. When I answer a history question in class, I hear people scowl and whisper, "She's such a loser," or, "She's such a nerd," Lucky for me, my friends are amazing and just shout "Shut up! She's a flipping genius is what she is!" when they hear people whispering about me. I did have another friend, but we drifted apart a few weeks ago. Her name is Willow. Like I said, we used to be friends, but now, she's the one that talks about me behind my back the most. Would that count as bullying? Because I honestly have NO idea. I do know, however, that I'm bullied by another group of people. They call me loser, nerd, geek, retard, lonely Einstein and many other names. Lately, I feel like they've convinced other people to do the same. They've also gotten worse, they jab me in class, kick my legs, pull my hair and tell me to go die. But I never thought that Willow and the bullies would gang up on me to hurt me.

On Wednesday, Willow asked if I wanted to hang out with her and her best friend, Madelyn. Of course I was a little suspicious, but most of me was wondering if she was trying to heal our friendship, so I said yes. We were just walking around and chatting like we used to, and we came around to where the bullies normally are, and they were standing in a big group in the corner talking. I quickly counted how many there were while we were walking past casually, but all of a sudden; Madelyn pushed me into the biggest bully in an accidently-on-purpose kind of way. The bully (AKA Cody) grabbed me and threw my glasses on the ground, then he punched me in the face around 8 times; about half of them were in the eye. He then threw me to the ground and signaled for his friends to help beat me up. Whilst they were beating me up, Madelyn went over and stomped on my glasses. I didn't remember some of it because I ended up knocked out on the concrete.

I woke up in the nurse's office, just about ready to go back to class, or go home, it was my choice. I chose to go back to class because we only had two periods to go and it was a double of my favourite subject, Drama. I really didn't want to miss it since we only get two periods of it a week and it counted as both of them. Before I left, the nurse stopped me and said, "Honestly, you were lucky to survive that. If they had've beat you up much worse, your neck would've snapped like a twig. No broken bones though, just some bruises and cuts." She let me go.

About halfway through our last period of the day, Madelyn decided she would confront me. "Wow, Grace! They really beat you up harshly!" She taunted, while laughing. "Oh shut up!" I shot back.

"Sorry, its just funny how well Willow and my plan went!"

"I knew it!" I muttered. "But why did you do this to me?"

"Because you deserved it! Oh and, by the way, I'd watch your back, because it might just happen again, only WORSE!"

I chuckled sarcastically a little bit then said, "I really doubt that, Madelyn-"

"Why?" She quickly shouted.

"Because I have the most incredible friends in the world! Bonnie, Lara, you can come out now." Bonnie and Lara came out from behind two boxes and I continued, "They have been filming this ENTIRE conversation and are going to show it to the principal!"

Madelyn gasped and said, "Yeah, watch your back, loser."

I told the teacher I had to go to the toilet, but I was really going there to think.
