I was still with marrow. I practically lived with him unless I went back to the crow flocks, they were always moving and migrating. That includes flight, something I didn't have. Also there was over 200 crows in the flock I "belonged" to. I didn't belong to anyone. I liked living in the quiet solitary mountain home with marrow. He cackled as he was cooking. Birds always roasted our seeds for nicer meals, being predatory birds meat was a very yummy option too. Out on the balcony I pared down watching finches and sparrows dancing with the wind. Dancing with wings, airborne laughter and chitters lifted from there bright happy souls. They sounded so friendly and happy. I fluffed up my feathers and gave out my crow, it rang throughout the forest base of the mountain and all. The birds stopped singing and flew away. I rested my head in defeat. Crows were a sign of dark and death weren't they? Maybe that's all I am, I lift my head in suprisement. That is what I am!
