CHAPTER 3

The group all went to a pizza shoppe near the skate park and Ian dragged me along. We all looked like an edgy goth/scene/emo family. They all sat down and we took up three tables because the tables could only fit four people and we had ten. I've never been with so many people before. They ordered five large pizzas drinks for everyone. I was sitting next to Ian and Stella was in front of me. I sat on an end. On the opposite side of me it went Stella, Ethan, Ryder, Gigi, Christian and on my side it went me, Ian, Jose, David, and then Eirian. We all made corny jokes and laughed too loud that I was scared we were going to get kicked out.
"Ian, aren't we being just a little bit too loud?", I whispered to Ian.
Ian shook his head, "No, of course not! We come here all the time and the owner loves us. All the workers do!"
His words relaxed me a bit. I reached for another slice of pizza and so did Ryder. We accidentally bumped hands and then his eyes immediately jumped to me. I was intimated and pulled my hand away. After he got a piece and then Ian noticed and put a piece on my plate. I thanked him and began eating. Ryder and Christan stepped outside to smoke and we continued to joke around.
"Stella, stay at my place tonight.", Ethan asked her.
Stella shook her head low, "I can't. My mother would kill me."
"You mother doesn't have to know.", Ethan said looking at me.
"Yeah, Stella, we can say you're spending the night with me and you can actually be at Ethan's.", I said helping out Ethan.
"Yeah, but I know you don't want to be alone.", she said.
"I'll be fine.", I assured her.
"Actually, Stella, we're having a slumber party at Eirian's house so Ronni won't be lonely.", Gigi butted in.
"But I wasn't invited..", I said
"You are now!", eirian told me.
Soon everyone finished their drinks and the pizza was all gone. Ethan paid for it all and we all got up and left. We were walking around in the night air, laughing and saying random shit.
"Not much of a talker?", Ryder said standing next to me. We were walking behind the laughing group.
"I mean I guess.", I shrugged, "just everyone just met me and they're really nice."
"Yeah you get used to it, princess"
"Did you just call me princess?", I raised am eyebrow at him.
"Well what else did you hear?", he said cockily. I rolled my eyes.
"So, the name Ryder a birth name."
"No."
"Oh, then what's your birth name?"
"Why does it matter?"
"Just trying to get to know everybody", I convinced.
"It's actually Ryder. Ask Ethan, ever since we meet he's been calling my that because that's my name."
"So Ethan and you are childhood friends"
"Jesus Christ, twenty questions much?"
I smirked, "just a little bit"
"HEY DON'T TOUCH ME, JERK!", we heard from the group. We both ran up to the group.
"What happened?", Ryder asked.
"Just some guy grabbed Eirian but then saw David and ran off.", Gigi explained.
"Oh.", Ryder said. Nothing important really. I stood next to Stella which Ethan had his arm wrapped around. Ryder stood next to Eirian.
"Next time we see them point him out for me, I'll hurt them for trying to hurt you.", I heard Ryder whisper to Eirian. I am currently low key jealous because Ryder is very like able, but everyone here is like a family so I can understand.
We turn the corner and is almost at the skate park, where our cars are, when a different "gang" show up in front of us.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't Ethan's little posse.", the guy in front said. I have no idea who they were, but they seemed like bad news.
Ethan nodded his chin to the left, "Just get out of here, no one has time for this right now. I heard Ryder growl and tense up a little, same with David. Oh my god. Is this a gang rival. This is so cheesy and movie like. David stood tall with his arms crossed and Ryder looked like he wanted to eat someone.
"Oh, looks like you guys got some fresh blood?", the leader of the other "gang" said. Hinting towards Stella and I.
"Cute, can I have one? How bout the one with the silver hair?", he said and I can see the anger running off if Ryder. Its not that big of a deal to be honest.
"You've over welcomed your stay, now get lost before you get hurt.", Ryder told him, gritting through his teeth.
He started laughing, "Is that a threat?"
I kinda got scared. I should leave. I grabbed Stella's hand and hinted to her that it wasn't our business and we should go. Stella didn't want to leave. It was her business because her boyfriend was involved. I backed up trying to slip unnoticed.
"Looks like princess is trying to run away. Scared?", the man said to me and I froze in my tracks. I had everyone's eyes on me but Ryder's.
"Get youR OWN NICKNAME!", Ryder yelled at the guy and then charge at him. They started fighting and I couldn't see anything because everyone else was hovered around them. Someone walked over to me.
"Sorry about him, he just really hates your group.", he said.
"Why?
"Something with Ryder not joining him and Ethan picked Ryder over him. I'm Brendan."
"I'm Ronni."
"Cute name."

"Thanks...wait......Brendan?", I turned to get a closer look at his face, "BRENDAN!", I hugged him. We've been friends since tenth grade. He hugged back.

"Kinda hoped you wouldn't recognize me. Wouldn't want you to think I'm like them."

"No, no, you're fine. Do they always fight?"
"Yeah, you get used to it."
"Why are you being nice to me?"
"I want to be in your group very badly, but I know if I switch sides no one will be able to save me from Ryan."
"Ryan?"
"The guy Ryder is currently beating the shit out of."
"Ohh. Well I'm sorry."
"Get away. Out! Away from her.", eirian ran off Brendan.
"Ryan is lucky we got Ryder off of him or he'd be headed to the hospital in a coma.", eirian explained. I look over to see Ryder sitting on the curve of the street with the rest of our group then I look to the right and see two people helping Ryan walk as they walk quickly away. Brendan looks at me and waves before they all disappear around the corner. Eirian and I walked over to the other part of our group. Fighting is immature to me and I think Ryder could of done better.
"I'm sorry, but he needed to know not to steal nicknames.", Ryder said to Ethan but for all of us to hear.
"You always need to 'teach him a lesson' Ryder. Just let him go next time, okay?", Ethan said before getting up and walking to his car. We were in front of the skate park. Soon we all got in different cars and went to eirians house. Why were the boys here?
Eirian led us upstairs into her room and j saw the boys go into another. After I sat on the bed and eirian shut the door I asked her.
"Why are the boys here?"
"Because Ryder lives here?"
"Ryder lives with you?"
"Yeah, usually brothers and sisters live with each other."
"Ohhhh, I didn't know you guys were yeah okay. That makes sense now.", I said nervously chuckling.

"So Ronni, tell us more about you.", Gigi said, grabbing a pillow and laying on the bed.

"Well, as you can see I'm a little emo. I'm seventeen and I basically fend for myself. Stella has been my only friend for the past six years and never switched up on me. She went with Ethan or she'd be with me right now. I don't have either parents in my life really, my father died. He was murdered and I think my mother did it. My mother thought my father was in love with me and my father called her crazy and digusting. One night he told me to pack my things and to hurry. He wanted to run away from my mother before she did anything too rash, but by the time I had everything packed he was gone. I still ran away though, didn't get far when I saw someone in an alley throwing my father's body into a dumpster. I started crying and ran home. My mother wasn't home and by the time I was in middle school it all made since, my mom killed her husband because of me. Ever since he died my mother blamed me, of course, and then she became a very bad parent. The only good places in my house is my kitchen and my room. Ever since then I became distant from people until now.", I explained and they all looked interested.

"What about relationships?", Eirian asked.

"I did have a boyfriend in ninth grade, but he only wanted one thing. I've been single since.", I told them. Gigi shook her head in disbelief.

"Well, now you're with us and we'll take care of you, when do you turn eighteen?", Gigi asked.

"Next year. I'm an eleventh grader.", I said shyly, they're most likely older than me.

"Well, okay, but since you're friends with us now, you're eighteen.", Gigi said.

"Seriously? You guys want to have all your friends above age? That's kinda fucked up.."

"Take it or leave it?", Gigi said obviously getting fed up with my words.
"Okay.", I said. We heard a knock on the door, but before Eirian could reach the door it opened and the boys were standing there.

"Christan!", Gigi said and they hugged, "We've been without each other for so long."

"It hasn't even been 40 minutes.", Eirian sighed.

"Well come on, I'm bored. Let's do something.", Ryder said.
