The scorching sun burned Tristan's back as he lay in the sun, he stood up and cricked his neck, his knee was swollen and it was hard to stand up.

Tristan could tell something was not right, the sky was bright orange and his town looked abandoned.
Tristan stretched and started to walk around the village, the sun blinding him, it seemed hotter than usual and Tristan didn't like it.
Then he remembered his dad.
He was all alone when he left for that walk.
Tristan sprinted towards his house, rocks flying into his eyes.

He reached his house, opened the door and stepped inside.
He should be fine. Tristan thought, leaving him with hope.
He checked the living room first, no sign of his dad.
He then ran towards his room, the door was closed. Why was his door closed? He never closed the door.
Tristan opened the door quietly, expecting to see his dad sitting at his computer, ready to greet him.
Instead he found his dad laying on the floor, blood pouring out of his nose, his eyes red and puffy.
He didn't look normal, he was dying.
"Dad!?" Tristan shouted surprised that his voice was so raspy.
"Leave me ALONE!" He screamed banging his head against the floor.
"Da-" Tristan started to say,
"JUST LEAVE ME ALONE, OKAY!? I AM NOT NORMAL, I WILL KILL YOU! KILL ME BEFORE I BECOME ONE OF THEM!?" He screamed at him.
"Please.." He whispered as if one last bit of sanity was inside of him.
"I can't dad, I can't kill you! What do you mean one of them? One of what!?"
"Tristan... Listen to me, I don't want to be a crank.. A.. Zombie, please just kill me, there's a gun in my pocket, please son please,  I love you." His dad whispered too softly that Tristan could hardly hear.
"I love you too dad." Tristan whispered as he reached into his dad's pocket and grabbed the gun,
"I'm sorry dad" Tristan said as he pulled the trigger.
