Chapter 9: Benched, Banned, Suspended

Chapter 9: Benched, Banned, Suspended: 

I walked slowly onto the field trying to avoid Coach. He was obviously going to bench me because I was late for the 8th time and have not had good reasons. 

One of my reasons was that Danielle had to go to the airport and a huge snow storm was raging through the whole entire city. 

Another time it was school and this time it was because of a boy. A attractive boy tho. And a famous one too. 

"Keera Blake!!!!! Get running!!! Your late again!!! 20 laps now!" Coach yelled at me. 

The whole team turned from the drill they were doing and stopped kicking the ball. Pipa face palmed herself and shook her head. 

Well last time it was only 10 laps..... 

I groaned and started to run. It wouldn't be that after my laps - even tho I would be the littlest bit tired because I don't like running- but I would probably have to explain why I was late and do more work outs. 

I ran and ran until at about lap 18 my legs started to hurt. I groaned again. Why. Why. WHY. I finished my laps and walked over to Coach. 

"Sorry Coach I-" he cut me off. 

"Keera, you can't always be late!" he says rubbing his temples. "I let you on the team because I thought you were dedicated and would work hard!!" 

"But Coach I am dedicated and I do wor-" He cut me off again. 

"I know you are Keera! And I haven't been as strict with you as I am with the rest of the team! I get that it is tough since you are the only onein school and you have work and I know that comes first but please just try to get to practice on time!" he begged. 

"Coach I am trying! I swear it will be the last time I am ever la-" 

"Keera you said that last time. And it happened again." He sighed. 

"Coach please! Rooney and Van Persie were leaving and I had to help them with their car! And Wayne had to talk to me about the game he gave me some tip-" 

"Keera your not playing the next game. I'm benching you." he whispered. 

The whole world came to a stop. The whole team gasped. It was pure silence. No one dared to even touch the ball at their feet. 

My mouth hung open in pure and utter shock. What was happening? Did he just say he was going to bench me? 

His captain? 

I stared at him, my eyes filling with tears. Why? The whole team came and circled me and coach. I swear almost no one breathed. 

"But Coach, Keera's our captain!" Embrely argued.

"She is our top striker! We are gonna get crushed without her!" Hailey complained. 

A whole commotion broke out. I stayed quiet. He benched me. His captain. His star player. The youngest. 

"You know what?! Stop! Or you all will have to run!! And Keera!! You  won't even be dressing for the game!!" he screeched. 

That hit me like a punch to the gut. I wouldn't even be dressing for the game against the best team in the world with my idols on it. 

"B-But Coach..." I was full out crying now. "Y-You can't b-be serious can y-you?" 

"I am very serious Keera. You will not be dressing for the next 3 games. And you won't even be able to get into them to watch." he said staring me right in the eyes. 

"C-Coach no p-please. I w-will do a-anything. Just p-please put me i-in the line u-up" I stammered still crying. 

"Blake your suspended for 3 games and 3 practices. Get out now." he pointed to the door. 

I looked around to my team. they were in shock but than again so was I. their mouths all hung open and eyes filled with fear and sadness. 

I walked out of the stadium tears streaming down my face. I ran to the change room and quickly changed into my sweats and a Under Armour sweater. I flipped the hood up and grabbed my stuff exiting the stadium. 

I walked home in silence letting the tears fall. I slammed the door to my flat and tossed my equipment on the ground. 

Danielle and Liam were sitting on the couch in the living room watching a movie before I had that scene. I stared at them in shock. 

"I-I'm sorry D-Daniell, Liam. I-I'll be u-upstairs" I stutter letting more tears fall as I raced up the stairs slamming my room door. 

I rolled up in the blankets on my bed and cried. My Coach, someone I looked up to and respected, had just suspended me for being late to a practice. 

And I was late because of Niall. 

Well it wasn't his fault, i was the one who had to keep the time. But he distracted me. And now I am not playing for 3 games or 3 practices. 

I am the captain of Manchester United and I am not even allowed to go to a practice. Because I was late. 

How could I have screwed it up so much?

Niall's P.O.V:

I haven't heard from Keera for quite a while and I thought she would have called or something by now but I guess I was wrong. 

Liam came home around 6 ish with a worried look on his face. He was always thinking about something new and he was always caring about people irrelevant to any situation. 

"Hey LiLi how's Dani?" Harry asked not looking up from his phone. 

"Good we watch Toy Story 3" he smiled like a kid on his birthday. "But the weird thing was that Keera came in, in thew middle of the movie and she was crying for some reason but she ran away before we could ask her anything or find out any answers." 

Well at least I knew she was home safe. Maybe not sane but she was at least safe. 

"What do you mean Liam?" Zayn asked practically reading my mind. 

"Well she came in with her soccer equipment and she was crying and she looked like she had just saw someone get murdered." he explained. 

Okay maybe she isn't  sane.
