This poem is inspired by the stories of the war torn countries. The children suffer with no food or fresh water, and war that continues to go on around them. They suffer day and day again, and I'm sure they all wish they could run away from their lives. But they can't.
Sometimes I wish I could run away,
To a better place, on a better day,
Where the sun would shine, and the kids would play,
And everything would just be okay.
Our parents would sing together in peace,
And the amount of food, would slowly increase,
The adults would stop coming to fight,
And everything would just be alright.
My sister would be healthy, and my brother, alive,
My mum and my dad would finally arrive,
From the place they were sent many years ago,
We would go outside, and play in the snow,
I wish I could run away,
From the travesty I live in today,
Where the guns would fire, and the kids would cry,
And people would shout, rant and scream out why,
Why did so many people constantly die,
The parents would say "Stay nearby",
To the children who were willing to run away,
To a better place, on a better day.

My Face Tells a Million Lies (Poetry)
Poetry'My Face Tells a Million Lies' will be a collection of my poems. I'll probably update a new poem once a day. I'm not the most wonderful poet, but I try my hardest, so if you want to give me constructive criticism, please dont be rude. Thanks!
