The Apple Feeler

Oh is that an apple-feeler I spot,
Up so high, with a face so taught;
He waves to me and wiggles his tongue –
And yet, it would be silly to think him young;

He stares down below,
As the clouds pretend to row;
From eternity to eternity,
He giggles at the shallow world,
And it’s abundance in the dearth of much to savor,
Destined to end from the very beginning;
Apples – it’s only savior.

I bet he’d come down for an apple
Or in ancient hobbies that he did dabble in;
Now what of him now-
Does he know where the honey’s stored?
The moon’s laughing with that ancient glow
It’s silly humor, to Earth does flow
Upon the waves of the aging sky
And in it’s eternal abundance does he lie-
Why, oh why must he be so shy?
