Chapter Seventeen
I tap my pen furiously on the desk. There was five minutes before the bell rang, signaling the end of school. Amy and I decided we were going to have the party tonight. Especially since tomorrow we had no school because of those holidays no one cares about but love them for that purpose only. I sneakily take my phone out of my bag and place it carefully on my lap.
"Are we buying the stuff directly after school?” I text to Amy.
Less than a minute later she replies back. “Yeah so make sure you get to the car ASAP or I’m leaving you and you’ll have to walk home.”
“So funny. If you left me I could easily get a ride from someone else ;).”
“From who? Heather? LOL!!”
I roll my eyes. Why would I ask Heather for a ride? She would probably drive off a cliff on purpose and hope I die in the explosion at the bottom. “I’d rather take a trip to hell with Satan.”
The bell finally rings. I quickly gather my stuff and rush over to my locker, throwing everything besides two binders and my cell phone in it. By the time I reach the parking lot Amy wasn’t here yet.
“Thank god.” I mumble. I lean against her car and wait for her to come. A few guys passing by stop in front of me. I wasn’t exactly sure who they were but I was pretty sure they were players on the basketball team.
“Hey, you’re Marisol right?” A blonde guy with deep blue eyes said.
“That’s me. Who wants to know?” I put a slight bit of cockiness in my tone. No one knew who Heather had on her side.
“Amy told us to wait for her at her car and that you’d be here.”
Right when I'm about to question them a bit more Amy runs up with her hair flying everywhere. “Sorry Mari my stupid teacher was questioning me on crap.”
I shrug my shoulders. “These guys said you told them to meet you here?”
“Yeah we need help setting up and they offered.”
I nod my head again and plaster a smile on my face. “Well nice to meet you guys.”
“Okay this is Alex, Chris, Justin, Noah, and Steven.” She introduces while walking over to the driver seat.
I follow and go into the passenger seat. “We have to get some supplies first but meet us at my house? We should be there in about twenty.”
“That’s cool. We’ll head out now then.” Noah answers.
Amy backs out of the parking lot and starts driving towards Publix. “Those guys were hot don’t you think?”
“Even though I don’t feel right saying this but yeah they were.” I laugh.
“Did you invite Alejandro to the party?”
“Actually I didn’t, I can text him now though and see if he can make it.”
She nods her head and makes a quick turn down the street. “Yeah you should invite your boyfriend who cares what the other girls say. Trust me they’re going to envy you.”
“No they’re going to be like ‘Why is he with her?’ but if Heather even dares to come near him there will be a fight.”
Amy starts laughing while reaching over to turn the radio on. ‘It’s Good’ by Lil Wayne featuring Drake and Jadakiss came blasting through the speakers.
