chapter one ; hoseok's dream
hoseok entered the dreaming state at precisely three in the morning. his dreaming eyes opened to a new room today, not liking the atmosphere. it was a white room with white couches, white vases, white tables, white carpets, and white clothes. he himself sat on a white couch across from the boy who had always been in his dreams since he was a young boy at the ripe age of five.
taehyung.
"this is a different environment," hoseok commented to taehyung, an irritated tone laced into his voice.
"well, the purple room was rented out by namjoon, okay? he won the chess match today, so he got to pick first. so what happened today?" taehyung asked him with a huff.
hoseok ignored the slight attitude taehyung gave him. he had bigger problems than taehyung losing a chess match. "yoongi kept asking me how i'm always so happy. it bothered me a lot. i was having a good time and he ruined it. he kept pressing on the subject, even bringing up jungkook! i hated myself because of him, but yoongi has such a thick head. he can't seem to even see that."
i couldn't warn you earlier, but hoseok was not what he seemed. no one could be constantly happy forever. there needed to be a time to show other negative emotions, and hoseok only felt comfortable sharing them with taehyung. taehyung had known hoseok for i don't even know how many years. hoseok's secret-keeper was taehyung. he never told a lie to taehyung, ever.
taehyung ate a tiny cube of white cheese. "i see," he said almost passively before pausing for a moment to ponder on the subject. "i think yoongi wanted to see a negative reaction out of you. if you cried, yelled at him, or walked away, then he would be taken aback due to all the negativity. if you did what was mentioned, you would prove his thoughts true. technically, he is true, but you don't want anyone to know that, do you?"
"of course not," hoseok replied instantly. "yoongi was especially an insufferable little turtle today. i wanted to punch him so badly, but that would go against my entire personality."
"your personality? this is your personality. you're a fake down there," taehyung said. "don't lie to me, hoseok. i always know when you are." taehyung gave him a stern glare, as if to warn him.
"i just really like yoongi. but i want him to like me for who i want to be. i can't imagine him falling for me as a person or just me in general," hoseok sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"you've slept well, hoseok. your alarm clock will ring soon, so i guess we have to stop talking now," taehyung said, popping another piece of stark white cheese in this mouth. he straightened out his crisp white suit and brushed off any cheese crumbs.
hoseok's hand shot out to taehyung. "no, wait! i still have to-"
hoseok shot awake in bed, his hair damp against his forehead. he let out a sigh as he got out of bed.
"-never mind."
