dark side + yoonseok

prologue ; the start

whenever yoongi looked at hoseok, he couldn't help but feel a little uneasy around him. how could someone be so happy all the time?

"hoseok?" yoongi finally spoke up after hoseok finished his story about his trip to jeju island.

"yeah, yoongi?" hoseok replied back, his bright eyes looking at yoongi's tired ones.

"was there ever been a time you weren't happy?"

hoseok's flew upwards, not expecting the question. "of course. remember when jungkook said i looked like a horse? i felt unhappy then. i think i'm decently good-looking."

yoongi almost sighed. did he not take the question seriously? in the fifteen years of his life, he never felt unhappy? it seemed almost impossible to think that hoseok had never cried or had been upset even once.

"what about in seventh grade when jungkook used to bully you?" yoongi asked, not giving up on the matter, much to hoseok's disappointment.

"well, jungkook was twelve, and so was i. he probably isn't as matured as he is now. people change over the years, yanno?" hoseok said, attempting to make a flower crown. "what about you, yoongi? was there ever a time where you were happy?"

hoseok's question took yoongi by surprise. he really didn't expect his own question to fire back at him so quickly. "well," yoongi blabbered, "i'm always happy during my birthday and on holidays."

yoongi didn't catch hoseok muttering, "bullshit," under his breath.

"i guess that counts," hoseok chirped cheerily. "but why do you ask?"

"call me old-fashioned, but i don't trust anyone without a dark side," yoongi said slowly, pointing his statement at the little ball of sunshine.

yoongi didn't see the dark look flash across hoseok's face. to his surprise, hoseok answered back to his statement in all serious. "maybe you just haven't seen it yet," the sun replied lowly to the moon.

"i guess i'll just have to take your word for it, then," the moon said, unknowing of the future course of events.

i'll be co-writing this book with my friend janice (milkystars) because she helped me come up with the idea! so idea and cover credits to janice, because i'm not good at making both of those.
