MODERN: Hiccup x Reader//

// Summer //

The large black dog ran ahead of them it's feet hitting the ground in a soft rhythmic pattern, the black pavement was hot so he moved fast. Laughter could be heard over the hill and a couple of kids ran over, their Converse hitting the pavement hard. Their footsteps like a heartbeat.

Two kids- no older- teens? Yes.

A girl, black high-waisted shorts moving with her legs, a loose grey shirt tucked into them, the sleeves pushed up past her elbows. Her phone was clutched tightly between the fingers of her left hand. Her right, preoccupied, holding someone else's. His hair jumped off his sweaty forehead, longer, brown and wispy. A branded white tank-top covered his torso and a green plaid button-up was tied around his waist, covering his shorts. His hand was hooked in the girls, he ran slightly faster and pulled her along chasing- no- following the dog. She laughed as he stumbled over his feet.

The large black dog, bounded down the path and made a turn into the wooded area. anyone else would have missed the path but the two teens followed the dog quickly, still laughing. The dog was already in the water of the creek. He barked happily as the adolescents stripped off their shoes and socks, they set their phones down in the rocks of the creeks shore. Then came in, splashing the dog. He ran as best he could to the feet of the girl. The boy noticing she was distracted grabbed her around the waist and dropped her down into the deeper water of the creek. She screamed as her clothes were soaked through and stood to go after the boy.

The boy, knowing what her reaction would be, had already started off in a different direction.

// Fall //

The boy sat, his arm over the girl's shoulder, the sky was dark but their faces were illuminated with the orange glow of the fire in front of them. She wore his blue and red nylon windbreaker. It was too big for her and sat loosely over her body making it bunching up in certain places. A few other teens, all about the same age, also sat around the fire.

Her body moved, swaying to playing music and laughter.

Another girl, with a long, loose, blonde, french braid joined her. Together they pulled a third girl, her hair also long and braided, but black. Eventually a girl with blonde dreads joined in, then a boy who looked quite similar. A short buff boy, then finally a larger blond boy.

She walked quietly over to the only one still sitting. She smelled the same sent the jacket gave off on him, his quiet chuckle, and his rough hands locked on hers, their fingers intertwined. She leaned in and brushed his lips softly. His hands let go of hers to grab around her waist, just to taste her again. but she caught his arms and in his weakest moment pulled him up to dance with the rest of the teenagers. He stayed close to her and couldn't help but touch her form whenever he could. There was no need for him to hear the music or laughter to dance to a beat. Her hands lifted to the soft flannel and brushed over what she knew to be a green plaid pattern. He squeezed her body into his. They swayed to the beat of the music playing from a speaker. No- it wasn't a slow song- but they didn't care.

// Winter //

The warmth of the crackling fireplace filled the room. Small. Fireplace, low bed, lots of pillows, a wooly carpet covered the floor. Her eyes came into focus on the green plaid. It smelled like wood and pine needles. A sent that he seemed to carry with him wherever he went, or what ever he was doing. His hands rested around the small of her back. the room was silent. No where near and awkward silent, more like a calming comfortable one.

His lips met her forehead and a line of kisses trailed down the bridge of her nose.

She lifted her chin to meet his lingering lips.

// Spring //
The hot sun beat down on her face. She pulled her sweater off and closed her eyes to the sun. A sudden weight landed on her lap and a warm tongue hit her face.

She yelped, disgusted. And pushed him off her lap. The black dog circled back to a boy walking up the street. He waved. Black shorts, red tee-shirt, and his signature plaid shirt tied around  his waist.

She waved back.

"Hello hiccup."
"Hello Milady. Ready to go?"
"Absolutely."
