The Mars-Venus Paradox

Story

It's 2768. The city of Germania is split. The genders are fighting against each other in the Mars-Venus war. Any male, female couple or transgender person that is caught will be executed on the boarder to be made an example of. The war has been a long time coming, ever since the creation of Genesis, a machine that allows single mothers or fathers to have children, without the requirement of the other gender.

Underground, there is the city of Safe Harbor. It's where all the couples, transgenders, and anyone who doesn't agree with the new order goes to live. In Safe Harbor, Merrick Schwarznedfeld and Lydia Goodknight are forming a rebel group, The Gilded Lilies, to try and take down Genesis and bring back peace and equality.

Not everyone in Safe Harbor agrees with the creation of The Gilded Lilies. Some believe that life underground is better than it ever was up in Germania. Many protest against Merrick and Lydia's creation, but out of the 10,000 residents of Safe Harbor, they got 3,000 people to join.

Safe Harbor has secret entrances from both sides of Germania scattered along the city, allowing members of The Gilded Lilies to roam freely, get supplies, recruit new members, and bring hidden couples down to the city. Their only ally in Germania is Sergeant Chester C. Hartman of the Mars side, or Chesty, the nickname given to him because he's arrogant and always walks with his chest out. He helps the rebels smuggle people and supplies to and from Germania.

To shut down Genesis, they had to gain access to the building where it was housed, and get to it's memory core, which self replicates, and holds an accumulation of all the information to create new life forms. To destroy the core, The Gilded Lilies have to plant a virus called Neo. Neo will reprogram Genesis' core to create lilies.

Slowly, Lydia becomes allies with Mother Harriet Lovegood of the Venus side, a doctor who cares for the babies that Genesis creates, and allows them entrance into the Genesis building. Taking 20 members of The Gilded Lilies, Lydia and Merrick lead them in from both sides, taking over the building and shutting down Genesis.

Once safely back in Safe Haven, news had traveled that Genesis was down, and the people of Germania were going crazy. The sides of Mars and Venus alike were worried that they would go extinct without the ability to create new babies. No one knew how to make a new Genesis, as the original creators 100 years ago decided to let Genesis hold the knowledge of how to create itself. It was supposed to send out the formula to one of the scientist once Genesis wasn't able to complete it's function anymore, and they would create a new one. Now, they are stuck trying to create a new machine, which could take up to 50 years, with hopes that the knowledge isn't lost forever.

Down in Safe Haven, The Gilded Lilies were preparing to go to war. The time to strike was now. Their enemy was weak. But little did they know that the people of Mars and Venus had their own plan. Someone from Germania had leaked to both sides where the entrance to Germania was and how to find The Gilded Lilies to destroy them, as long as they promised not to destroy Germania on they way.

Now with this knowledge, the men and woman of Mars and Venus came flooding into Germania from all sides, in search for The Gilded Lilies. Little did they know, the source who had the information gave it to both sides, and when they saw each other, all hell broke lose. They started fighting, destroying Germania as they did. Pink and blue weapons were out, and there was colored smoke everywhere.

The Gilded Lilies heard news of the invasion and got prepared to fight. Having the advantage of home terrain, they were able to use secret tunnels and corridors to sneak attack the soldiers of Mars and Venus.

The battle went on for hours, with a lot of casualties from both sides. After hour six, the pink and blue dust started to settle, and there, left standing, were Lydia and Merrick, hand in hand, ready to bring the world back to peace.
