Something caught her eye in the snow, tracks. Wolf tracks, and it looked like the entire pack was hunting tonight. She looked up through the blinding snow and ran forward, following the tracks.
She came to a snow clearing, the wolves were cornering the man against the trunk of a large tree. He had no way to escape. She rushed over and turned into a snow white wolf herself. She jumped in front of the man, blocking the pack from him, growling.
"What are you doing!?!?" the leader snarled. "I was going to ask you the same thing.'' she said back. "We want that trespasser's blood spilled in the snow, and his carcass left to die!" he barked. She backed up more to the man. "Woe. Let's not just go and start killing here," she said.
She turned her head to get a glance of the man, then back at the pack. She furrowed her brow and did a double take. ''LOKI?!?" Her mouth gaped in shock. He gave a sly smile. "Surprised?" he asked. "I thought that you were expecting me." he said sarcastically.
She felt like tossing him to the wolves and leaving him, but that'd be wrong. She snorted and turned back to the leader. Gotta think fast! she thought in panic. "Let me take the trespasser, I have been tracking him for days. He killed off the rest of my pack!" she barked. The leader growled, "Why don't you just help us, and we both get a chance for a kill." he sneered.
Chloe glared at the wolf leader, and he glared back. Without taking her eyes off the wolf, "Loki. Run. Now." she commanded. She heard him turn and run and the pack wolves jumped at him. She lept up at them and started tackling them back and to the ground. The leader barked, "Fools! You handle her, I'll get the tresspasser!" The large wolf leader ran after Loki barking.
Chloe growled and yelped, "NO!" She lept up and attacked the first wolf. She slashed him hard in the mussle. He yelped and backed off. He lept at her, trying to rip out her throat. She slamed his head againest a tree. He dropped to the ground, blood pooling out of his nose, mouth and a crack on the side of his skull. "Who next?" she challenged angerly.
Three wolves ran off, leaving two more. The first one began to circle her and let the other jump at her and pin her down. She easily lerched forward and grabbed his throat. She bit down hard until blood ran into her mouth. She kept biting down, harder and harder until she heard a snap, and the wolf went limp. She tossed him to the side. The blood stained around her mouth and chest. The last wolf's eyes teared up and she turned in shock, ran away howling in sadness and pain.
She smiled and shook out her pelt. She ran to follow Loki's scent. She was panting by the time she heard a wolf snarel and bark. She bolted at the wolf, like a phantom in the snow. Visiblity was pretty much zero, and the wind blew hard and screamed in her ears.
The snow swirled and snow caught in her eyes, almost blinding her. She saw a flash of slivery grey and she turned and lept at him. She tackled him to the ground, ripped at his throat.
"Stop it Flare!" he said, pain flooding the wolf's voice. "S-saro?" she asked in shock. "Hey Shrimp." he said. He gave an evil grin. He dug his hind claws into her exposed under-belly, and biting hard into her ear. She yelped in pain and tackled him over.
She pinned him so his back was to the ground. "This time you will die!" she snareled."Flare, N-" he was cut off as she wrapped her jaws around his neck, snapping his neck. Blood spilling onto her white coat and staining the snow.
She sniffed around in the frozen, snow filled air. "Loki?" she called quietly, hoping he was nearby. She stood up, turn back to her normal self. She had on a tee shirt, a light jacket, her jeans, and her converse, not much to keep warm in. She wrapped her arms around herself and rubbed her arms.
"Loki! Loki where are you?" she hollered, voice being drowned out by the howling wind. Snow pelted her arms like stones and the snow nipped at her frozen face. She looked around and got under a thick pine tree.
She sat there againest the low tree trunk panting and looked at the white blizzard. What's that? she asked herself. She squinted her eyes at the small speck in the distance. She smiled as she realized that it was a rusty, worn down cabin. Well, it's better than here.
She crawled out from under the low branches, but stopped. She had her foot pulling away at some sort of cloth. She crawled back under and looked around the trunk of the tree. She saw that she was tugging away at Loki's long coat. She looked around more and saw Loki laying there with a deep gasp in his shoulder. He appeared to have been knocked out before she jumped at Saro.
She sighed. I can't just leave him here to freeze. she thought. She picked him up and carried him throught the storm to the old cabin.
She laided him down in the snow for a moment. She pulled at the fozen door, Stuck. She used what stregnth she had left to bust open the door, nearly taking it off it's hinges.
She quickly dragged Loki in and laided him on the couch. She found a pile of old blankets and covered him with one.
She saw a wood stacked near the door and a fireplace. She started a blazing fire in no time. She went to the kitchen to find in there was any food there. "Nope." she shook her head and went back into the living room.
She sat in front of the crackeling flames, then at the peaceful Loki. She felt almost sorry for him. She took off her jacket, and ripped the bottom of her shrit off, and wrapped it carefully around Loki's wound. He moved and moaned when she wrapped it, but he didn't wake up.
She sighed and dragged a few rugs, pillows, and blankets to make herself a make-shift bed next to the couch. She curled up on the pile and looked out the window again, the blizzard radging on.
Hopefully it'll blow over by tomarrow. She hoped. She curled up tighter in her bed, the hissing, flickering flames making her surrender to sleep.
