DISSOLVE TO:

FIRST CLASS HALLWAY - EVENING

Jen finds Pat sitting on one of the plush couches in the first class hallway. He looks relieved to be out of the restaurant.

PAT

Yeah, I don't think they like me.

JEN

Probably not, but what's done is done I guess.

They sit in silence.

PAT

Have you ever been to a third class party?

JEN

No.

PAT

Would you like to? There's one going on right now.

JEN

Sure.

The two get up off of the couch, and head to --

THE THIRD CLASS PARTY

Pat holds the door open for Jen and then follows her inside. Passengers dance in the corner, where a small radio plays a pop song. Some people sit at tables, mingling with each other. Everyone seems to be smiling and having fun. Pat leads Jen off to the side of the room.

PAT

What do you do at first class parties anyways?

JEN

We sit, drink wine, and complain about every aspect of our life.

Pat raises his eyebrows and laughs.

PAT

That's not a party. Come on.

Pat pulls Jen to the dance floor where they join the other passengers. Pat can hear other people whispering as they dance to the music.

PARTY-GOER

(whispering) Is she from first class?

PARTY-GOER 2

(whispering) I have an idea.

PARTY-GOER 2 ambles over to the radio and changes the song to a slow song. Pat places his right hand on Jen's upper back, and he grabs her hand with his left. Jen looks startled but still places her hand on Pat's right arm. Pat leads, and the crowd moves away, leaving the dance floor just for them. They gracefully make their way around the floor, and Pat moves for Jen to twirl. Her dress swirls around her and Pat smiles. The song ends and Pat leans down, placing his hand on her face and kisses her. Jen is surprised but kisses him back. Most of the crowd whoops and claps, except for one, standing off to the side. Cal turns and leaves. Jen notices but doesn't move. 

JEN

I don't care if my mom disowns me. I want to be with you, Pat.

Jen reaches up and places her lips on Pat's again.
