Just over a week later I was back in Detroit after my fantastic week in LA and I was letting my hair down with a couple of my old work colleagues, one being my oldest friend, Erica. Hailie would have been my first call but she was in New York. After I had left the modelling agency called her up and asked her to go down to NY for her first call up. We were both so excited for her and I was itching to see the shots of her. Still, as soon as she was home we would be meeting up. In the meantime I was out with Ola, Erica and Carmella. We had been in the club for a few hours when a G-Unit/Eminem song came on. I grinned to myself and we let loose dancing and I couldn't help myself singing along.
I was up in the VIP looking out onto the floor below me. It was pretty packed as usual but the people around us weren't interesting me at all. It was the same chicks every time we came in here and they were eager to please any guy in my crew, just to get with a member of D12. It was getting irritating, but as I heard 'Bump Heads' begin to play out over the club, something caught my eye. I sat up and looked over the railing to see Vick dancing with some other girls. I grinned. Ever since meeting her at my house I haven't stopped thinking about her. I watched her intently as she got down to my track, which wasn't usually a turn on but the way she danced mesmerized me. I wanted to see her again. I looked over to Cedric who was looking over us all and I got his attention. "Yo, Vick's down there, ask her if her and her friends want a drink up here, please C"
"No problem Em" he nodded at me, he was a great guy. He turned away and headed down to go to Vick. I sat up and watched her and her friends.
As I danced away to Eminem's track I noticed a huge guy wading through the dancers. He was walking my way and as I looked back at him I realised who he was. "Hey!" I waved at him and he grinned at me, "hey Vick, you good girl?" his gruff voice bellowed over the music. "Yeah" I nodded and beamed a smile at him, "you?" I asked him, he winked at me and nodded, "Marshall wants to invite you and your girls up for a drink" he told me. I smiled and looked to the three of them dancing beside me. They nodded at me and I grinned. "Thank you Cedric" I smiled back. He grinned and nodded at me and we followed him up to the VIP section.
"Marshall?" Erica asked me, raising an eyebrow. I laughed, I'd told her about finally meeting Hailie's dad last week and she knew I've always loved his music. "How do you know him?" Ola asked, "I'm good friends with his daughter. I only met him a week ago" I told them as we reached the top of the stairs. Subconsciously I straightened my pink dress out a little and fluffed up my hair as we followed Cedric to the same place I met him up here last time.
I saw the guys sitting on the couches, again with more girls surrounding them and then I saw Marshall stand up. "Thanks man" he gave Cedric a fist bump and then he disappeared and I was faced with him. "Hi" I smiled at him and automatically gave him a hug. "Hey girl, lookin good" he greeted me with a squeeze. "Not bad yourself" I laughed, looking back at him. He did look good, he had a white t-shirt on and dark jeans and a black beat up leather jacket. "Yeah yeah" he brushed it off, making me laugh. "So who are your girls?" he asked, causing me to turn and about to introduce them, I saw they were too busy saying hello to the guys. I laughed. "Yeah, I think they're kinda busy..." I laughed, looking back at him. He shook his head grinning. "Can I get you a drink?" he asked me, "how about I get you one?" I asked him, he looked surprised. "Sure, I'll have a coke" he told me, "okay, back in a sec" I nodded and headed to the bar. For some reason I felt really flustered being around him again. I wasn't quite sure why. I quickly glanced over at him and found my girls talking to him. I smiled. They were as crazy as me, but they were good friends.
Drinks in hand, I tottered back over to the couch. "Yo Vick" the guys greeted me. "Hey guys" I smiled at them as I put the drinks down on the table in front of the couch. I sat down beside Marshall and joined in the conversation. We were all getting along well when my phone vibrated. I looked at the message and saw it was off Hailie. I grinned. "Somethin amusin you girl?" I heard a voice. I looked up at Marshall looking back at me. "I just got a text off Hailie." I smiled. He grinned back. "She's having a ball isn't she" I smiled. He nodded, "yeah. I talked to her today, she said she's going to be out there another week or so" he told me, to which I nodded. "Yeah, that's what she's telling me now" I answered. I quickly typed her response and slipped my phone back into my bag. "So you used to work with these chicks?" he asked me, looking across the table at them now talking to the other guys. "Uh-huh, when I worked for MAC" I told him. "Cool," he answered, looking back at me, "how was your meeting in LA?" he asked, making me look back at him and grin. "That good?" he laughed. I blushed, "yeah" I grinned again, turning my body to face him. "It was worth flying out there just to meet the guy" I laughed. He laughed at me, "we went through loads of looks and colours and themes" I started, "and then we had a few days to actually do them on the models and match up looks and styles to each model ready for when I go to NYC" I told him. "Sounds pretty complex"
