Eren groaned, his body ached as his attempts of rolling onto his side aggravated the strained muscles. Tired orbs, the colour of moss, reflected the suns rays as they crept through the slit of curtains, shrinking the boys sensitive pupils before he managed to lift an arm to shield them from the harsh light.
The young recruit blinked slowly, eyelashes sweeping together in a small moment until parting once more. Eren then caught his breath, a sharp inhale before silence. In his realisation he quickly turned, eyes wildly searching the bed for a ebony haired man. It was empty. The boy exhaled in slight relief, gently pushing himself up against the headboard with what little strength still resided within his arms.
He tilted his head back against the cool oak, resting it there. His vision adjusting to the shadowed room, until locking his gaze on another set of optics. They held there briefly, he couldn't pull his own away from the steele pull of the others.
"You're still alive?" The husk voice crept into a trembling pair of ears as Eren tried lunging out of his Captains perfectly made bed.
"Sir! Sorry, I didn't mea-urgh!" The boy fell to his knees as the pain surged through his body, every limb weak with the fiery burn gripping within each ligament.
Eren grit his teeth, palms against hard floor boards as he held back the pain from voicing itself. The brunette remained there, ever concious of being watched in this embarrassingly weak state. His cheeks burned with shame as he glared down at the hairline cracks in the wood, wishing he could slip between them.
"Get up." Eren flinched at the sudden command, the words bitter, etched into his mind as his stomach tightened.
"I... I can't." He bit his lip harshly at the sound of his own shaking voice, vulnerable and pathetic. The pains sharpening as the struggling carcass attempted once more to move, almost trying to prove itself.
"You insufferable piece of shit, I won't repeat myself." Eren heard his superiors words yet the sound of his approaching boots were far louder as was the thud they made against the boys side. Eren couldn't even cry out, his stomach heaved, trying his best to keep the bile down he planted a hand firmly over his mouth as his eyes watered from the agonizing flare of pain now surging along his ribs.
His mind was screaming for help, eyes pleading silently with the floor.
