I know he didn't mean to hurt me. He had no idea bringing up Micah was going to be such an upsetting subject. He just really cares about me. He didn't want to see me upset. I thought that the next day I could just apologize.

I went to my window and saw that his window was open. It's Saturday, so maybe we can hang out and I can get my mind off of Micah.

"Austin?" I yelled.

There was no answer.

"Austin?" I yelled a bit louder this time.

Still no answer.

"Austin?" I yelled trying one last time.

Nothing.

I decided that maybe if I go to his house he will answer the door.

I grabbed my jacket and slid my boots on my feet. I walked to his house very slowly so I had time to think. How should I say this? I know that I had hurt his feelings, so I wanted  to make sure that he knew that I knew.

I finally was there and so I raised my hand to knock on the door and then let it fall when I heard a familiar voice.

"Hey, sweetheart," the voice said. I knew exactly who it was... Micah.

"Micah, seriously stay away from me!" I exclaimed.

"You know you want me back," he said.

"I know that I don't," I replied.

"How about you and I go get something to eat?" Micah said rudely.

"No thanks, I'd rather be here," I mocked his rude tone.

"You want to stay here with this guy? He doesn't seem that smart. Now, let's go," Micah said in a very calm voice, but through gritted teeth. He grabbed my hand and tried to drag me to his car.

"Micah, let go!" I yelled.

"Shut up, Lindsay!" He whispered loudly and put his hand over my mouth.

I tried to scream and scream. I was crying and trying to get away. Nothing was working. I was in his car when I saw Austin come out of the house. He came running out to the car and grabbed Micah's arm and jerked him away from the car. They were just far enough away that I couldn't hear them. They were obviously yelling at each other. I saw Austin point at Micah and he looked so freaking mad. I just sat there, because I was afraid that if I tried to get out that Micah would hit me.

I turned and looked to see if my mom or dad was home so that I could call them and they could come and get Micah away, but the vehicles were gone. I just decided that I was going to have to deal with it.

I turned back to Austin and Micah. Micah was telling Austin off about something. Austin mouthed off something back, because Micah drew back his fist and punched Austin right in the stomach.

"Austin!" I screamed.

He bent over in pain and Micah was laughing. Austin recovered quickly and then punched Micah in the face.

"Micah!" I screamed. I didn't like Micah, but I still didn't want to see anyone get hurt.

Micah recovered about as quickly as Austin did and Austin took another blow except to the face this time.

I couldn't take it! I jumped out of the car and ran to Austin.

"Austin!" I yelled while running over to him. When I came to him he was bent over in pain. I put one hand on his back and bent over to try to get his hands away from his face.

"Lindsay, get back in the car," Micah yelled.

"No, Micah! I'm so tired of your crap!" I retorted.

"You know better than to talk back to me," he said walking over to me with his evil grin spread across his face.

He drew his hand back.

"No, M-Micah... I-I'm... s-sorry," I stuttered in between sobs.

"That's just not good enough," he laughed.

I flinched and squeezed my eyes shut.

I heard a grunt and groan and opened my eyes. Austin had Micah bent over in pain. He just kept punching until he was on the ground.

"Austin... St-," he cut me off.

"In the house, Lindsay," he said between punches.

This was my escape so I ran to the house as fast as I could. When I turned and looked out the window Austin was coming to the house dragging a passed out Micah behind him. He laid him outside the door and then came in.

"Austin," I started and then got interrupted.

"Hold on," he said.

He grabbed his phone and then dialed a number.

"Yeah, I just had a man fall off my roof," Austin explained.

There was a pause.

"Yes," he said.

He gave them his address and then hung up. He wiped all the blood off of his face and his hands.

Just as he got cleaned up there were sirens.

I followed him out of the house and outside. I stood on the porch.

"So he just fell off the roof?" the officer asked.

"Yeah," Austin said casually.

They loaded Micah into the ambulance. I was still crying. They all left and Austin grabbed my hand and took me inside.

"Are you okay?" He asked me.

"Yeah I'm fine," I said crying harder and thinking about Micah again.

"Hey, he's gone," Austin said.

"Yeah, but he'll come back for you," I sobbed.

"No, he took a few blows to the head. He won't remember anything," Austin said.

I hugged him and stayed there for a minute. He stood with me in his arms swinging back and fourth to calm me down.

"So, he abuses you," Austin said pulling away and looking into my eyes.

I nodded.

"I am so sorry. He will never hurt you again, not when I'm around," Austin assured me.

He looked down and saw my bruised hands and wrists. He kissed them and said, "He doesn't have any idea how to treat a beautiful girl."

I smiled and kissed his cheek.

"Thanks for saving me, superman," I said.

We both sat down on the couch after Austin got some icepacks from the freezer. He put the icepacks on his head and face, then held me for awhile.

"I'm sorry I was so rude to you last night," I said.

"It's okay," he said, "I understand why it was upsetting."

"Yeah, but I still shouldn't have yelled at you for just asking. You were just concerned and I should be grateful for that. Micah's obviously never been concerned," I said.

"Well, he just doesn't know how to treat girls. He should have given you all the respect in the world," He smiled.

"Thanks, I'm glad someone cares," I smiled back.

Austin took the icepacks off of his face and looked into my eyes. He gave me a look that I had never gotten before. It was a look of care, a look of trust, but most of all a look of love. He leaned down and kissed me.

"How did you know that I was outside?" I asked him.

"Your attempted screams worked," he replied.

"Oh," I said.

"Let's take a nap," he said.

"Yeah, good idea," I agreed.

I hope your enjoying it so far! Feedback is appreciated. Make sure to follow me, I follow back! :)
