I was finally on my way to America, California to be exact, and I am so excited. I can't even explain how happy I am; or how happy I was.

It all started with the plane landing, but something wasn't right, although in a sense I could've just been tired. As soon as I put my foot down on American soil it didn't feel right, I got a shiver up my spine. But my thoughts were distracted when the thought that I WAS IN AMERICA came to mind and realised, who could care? my mum, dad and little sister Lily were so excited to be here finally after so much planning. We got in a taxi and we drove on the opposite side of the road, which tripped me out especially because the driver was crazy, as he went through two red lights which nearly made me piss my pants in fear.

When we finally arrived at the hotel, the lineup to book in was massive and although reluctantly, we waited through it, for the easily most agonising two hours of my life. When we eventually completed the sign in, my mum yelled across the room in which I was sitting, "Kaley! it's time to go, time to get your room set up!" I could hear the excitement evident in her voice as I got up and skipped over next to my sister, Lily. I grabbed her hand as we both skipped down the hallway, her blonde hair in two french braids and her tongue sticking out the side of her mouth as she worked her feet in a skipping motion.

I look up to just notice that the hall we were skipping down was massive and in a medieval theme, knights in shining armour scattered the hall with swords, bows and other weapons in their hands. "STOP AT ROOM 13" my mum yells from the other end of the hall. Lily and I made eye contact as mum says the room thirteen, something about the mentioning of that room made me shudder.
"that's creepy" lily says to me in her  small, sweet voice. Her little voice could melt even the coldest of hearts. While skipping towards room 13, I smile down at her. She and I had matching dresses on, cream coloured with little cartoon strawberries on them. Although I'm 16 and way too old to be skipping down a hall with my 8 year old sister with matching dresses on, I didn't mind, despite some of the locals giving me awkward looks, only then causing us to skip faster. I scan across the door numbers while skipping and laughing loudly to spot the number 30. Not long afterwards, Lily and I make eye contact simultaneously, "first one to mummy and daddy wins!" Lily yells at me as she starts running quickly down the hall, i begin laughing as I start chasing after her. I could have easily beaten her during the end of this race, due to me only being mere centimetres  away from her, but as always I let her win. I knock on the door and dad opens it with a loving smile, "my my, what do we have here Mary?" my mother walks up to the door and pokes her head out, smiling wide as she says, "well it looks like a couple of troublemakers looking for a home, should we let them in?" me and Lily nod simultaneously and both happily say in sync, "YES PLEASE" as they opened the door. I walk in and take in the rooms appearance, it was massive. It had red wallpaper and grey carpet, a weird mix in my opinion, but it worked. The bedspread was also red, and the two beds were both king size, much better than my single at home. Above both of the beds were pictures of castles with large green dragons, fire exploding out of their mouths, it was a typical dragon, medieval scene. This room was so greatly decorated I'm surprised it wasn't an actual castle. I look at the clock to see the bright numbers reading 8:00pm. Lily's small figure quickly zooms past me to the shower, "me first" she screeches at me, I laugh in response, "ok ok, don't get your knickers in a knot".
I jump onto one of the beds, thinking about how comfortable they are. I reach to the bed side table and feel around for my phone, and go onto messages. Reading five recents, I smirk to myself. Of course my friends can't leave me alone for ten minutes. I click on Calamity's messages, 'hey Kaley, just letting you know that there has been many weird sightings in California, stay safe' I chuckled to myself, weird sightings? what does that even mean? I think about the possibilities before sending her a quick thanks. She worries about me too much. Calamity and I have been friends for almost all of high school, she has always been there for me and I will always there for her.
