Myra POVMy legs began to ache as I walked up the many, many stairs to the great hall. We all stopped just in front of the great hall and a woman came out. Professor Mcgonagall came out and told us that we would soon be sorted. She then went back in to the hall to talk to someone.
A scream rang out and we all looked in the direction. The boy who had been nocking on my compartment door no more than 20 minutes earlier stood at the front of the group. "Trevor!" He picked up a toad and held it up triumphantly.
The young boy with the blinding hair walked up and shoved the boy out of the way. He looked down merciless upon the bleary eyed dark haired boy that a had seen earlier.
"The names malfoy." The light haired one said. He then looked to the two unattractive boys and the girl he had his hand around earlier. "That's crabb, goyle, and Jean." The girl turned a bright shade of crimson. Malfoy turned to the redhead I had seen in the compartment with the dark haired boy.
"And you," he started ,"red hair and hand-me-down robes. You must be a Weasley." The boy looked down in shame. "I on the other hand, potter," Malfoy continued, gasps could be heard around the room. "Can show you the rights and wrongs and who to make as friends."
"I think I'll choose for myself thanks." Harry said.
"Ahem," said Mcgonagall. We all turned to her and she beckoned us into the hall. We followed her into the hall. We stared at the ceiling which was, according to the bushy haired girl, bewitched to look like the night sky. There were four tables across the room with over 500 students sitting there anticipating our arrival. I walked with my head down afraid that I'd see people staring at me.
"We will begin with the sorting..." Professor Mcgonagall stated. She placed the sorting hat atop the stool and to all of our surprise, it began to sing,
"Oh you may not think I'm pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all. There's nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart; You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.So put me on! Don't be afraid!
And don't get in a flap!
You're in safe hands (though I have none)For I'm a Thinking Cap!"
The entire room exploded in applause and I saw two boys, twins, at the gryffindor table stood up hooting and hollering. A young girl who looked embarrassed by them stood and forced them back into their seats.
"When I call your name," The proffesser stated, "you will put on the hat and sit on the stool to be sorted" She then state loud enough for anyone to hear,
