"Alright Miss. Carter, you can go ahead and change out of those uncomfortable scrubs you have on now" said the nurse. Thank God those things were huge, and when I say huge I mean huge on me, plus they were kind of uncomfortable and itchy. After I was done changing back into my normal clothes and putting all my jewelry back on I went ahead and walked back to the waiting room where my mom had been waiting for me. As soon as I stepped foot in the waiting room I saw my mom signing a release form from the hospital for me. "Hey mom" I said blatantly. "Hey sweetie, how was the mri?" She asked, her face full of concern for me. "It was fine I guess, I've done these things about 13 times before so its nothing new, but I just listened to some music and fell asleep alittle bit. It wasn't too loud to where I couldn't sleep" I said. "That's good sweetie","Well let's get going, maybe we can get some Irish nachos on the way out of town" she said with a smile on her face. She knew those things were my weakness and that I could never turn down a Irish nachos offer. Hey you can't blame a girl, those things are to die for! My face grew into an instantaneous smile "Well then let's run in that case!" I started to giggle but my mom's face grew serious...." Aynalise. You know you are not supposes to run, even if you are in remission." The smile on my face disappeared and a serious look replaced it. I knew I wasn't supposed to, but I'm only fourteen, and I wanted those nachos! I looked at my mom and replied to her with a "yes mom I know, I promise I'll think before I say next time." And on that note me and my mom began walking out of the hospitals never ending halls lined with rooms. I had walked this hallway so many times I knew it by heart. My moms heels made clacking noises when she walked. When we walked out of the main entrance and out to our car my mom finally decided to break the silence " So, we go back for results in a week exactly, but don't worry about it. You have improved so so so much sweetie." "Thanks mom, I feel not as weak anymore too" I told her. But deep in my heart I knew I was horrified of my results I would get in a week, but I've been feeling a whole lot better the past month so that had to mean I was getting some what better right? When we finally got Darcy's, my stomach was growling because I was so hungry. After lunch, which I might add was absolutely delicious, I was stuffed. When we got back to town mom decided to not bring me back to school because there was only 30 minutes left of it. The next day I went to school and everyone was asking where I went but I just told them I went to the dentists for a checkup. I didn't want them to know I have cancer, I am just afraid they will treat me differently once they find out. And I definitely didn't want that to happen.
