I decided to call my dad. On the second ring he answered his phone. "Hello, who is this?" He asked. "Dad, this is Anyalise. Your daughter. I have something to tell you." "Oh Aynalise! Yes sweetie, what do you need to tell me? You're not pregnant are you?!" He replied in a worried voice. "Dad! Why in the world would I be pregnant?!" "Well you never know these days, with all you young kids and your crazy minds" he kept mumbling. "No dad I'm not pregnant. You'll never have to worry about me being pregnant either." "Aynalise....what are you trying to say?" He replied in a quiet voice. "Dad....I-I've been diagnosed with terminal cancer. I have only three months to live. There is nothing that they can do to stop it. They said that I just have to pretty much let it run its course." The line went silent and I heard my dad silently, well trying to be silent at least, sobs. "I just thought I might let you know dadio....." I added after a minute of the silence. I couldn't take his sobs anymore so I handed the phone to my mother and she walked out of the room. She too was starting to cry.
