I walked down the hallway with my friends, laughing and spending time together before we'd have to go to our separate classes. I checked the clock, nagging them about getting to their class on time, then leaving for first period.
First period was art for me, in the extra curricular tower. I went down the main hallway, humming a song from the radio and looking for a friend to bother. Target acquired, I thought to myself with a sneaky grin, seeing my partner for art projects across the hallway. I sucked in a sharp breath before speed-walking to her.
Her name was Atsuko, meaning honest child. She had long brown hair and wore thick-framed black glasses over her soft hazel eyes. She was wearing a black baggy sweatshirt, dark blue jeans that hugged her tightly, and striped black and white shoes. I called out her name when I was a few yards away, trying to catch her attention by waving.
Atsuko turned and pulled out her phone, to pause her music I'd guess, and smiled. She waved back, her eyes crinkling by the edges, and she started to walk over slowly to meet me halfway. I went to hug her, and she hesitantly returned it.
I noticed her hands, and immediately mentioned it. "Eh, Atsuko, your hands are shaking." She rose her hands slowly, watching for herself as they only shook to prove my statement. "Are you okay? ...sick, or cold?" I asked, and she looked up quickly. Shaking her head, she gave me a weak smile. "No, thank you... I-I just... I dunno..." She paused, her face making a conflicted expression, before putting her hands in the pocket of her sweatshirt.
"Never mind, it's nothing, really... Let's just...get our seats before the bell rings." She assured, and I nodded. I didn't want to make her feel pressured or anything. We walked side-by-side together down the hall, passing by other classrooms, already seated or almost done filling up with other students.
We made it to our art class, darkened with a few spotlights hanging above our tables around the room, and we went to sign in for the attendance. I read the class objective, then walked to the cabinet by the door to grab my sketchbook quickly. I went to my seat, sliding off my backpack and grabbing my pencil, before putting it down beside my stool.
I finished the warm-up in just a few minutes, waiting for something new. I started twirling my pencil between my fingers slowly. The teacher, Ms. Chou, started class with us having to take notes. That was how first period was for the majority.
I looked around the class with a curious expression, scanning everyone's face (or back, for the other side) before pausing on one in particular. Hibiki. I didn't know his last name. I remember only seeing it when I would read the rest of the attendance.
He had messy black hair that reached the end of his neck and had dark blue eyes that reminded me of some sort of ocean. He was wearing an over-sized grey hoodie, slightly exposing his collarbone, with black skinny jeans and shoes that were light blue and black. I let out a breath before reluctantly turning back around. I had to ask my friend on the side of me for the end of the notes.
He always looked...isolated. I couldn't tell if it was because he didn't know anyone, or if he just didn't prefer anyone. Most people thought it was the latter. I heard a few people think he was rude, or something similar, but he only looked...distant, in a way. I didn't know how to describe it. Something inside me just wanted to be a social butterfly, being friends with as many people as possible, while being confident and carefree. But I also knew that a lot of people didn't like others going up to them and trying to start something. So, with regret, I stopped the thought...temporarily, sadly. The thought kept going through my mind all day, especially when I would see him nearby.* * *
...
I kinda need to cut it off here just because my head is slow with ideas at the moment lmao.
But here's a chapter~! I'm a little excited for this fic tbh, and I hope it goes well (>+<)
And, yeah, you have no idea how hard I'm trying to make a long story with long chapters with a slow-burn romance... It's H - E - double hockey sticks difficult aF lmao ... Hopefully, next chapter will be easier...hh
Hope you enjoyed ~Btw, sorry if wattpad messes up the story. . . =___=
