The wandered in the mountains aimlessly. She didn't know that she was heading towards Dr. Griffin's cabin. As he defeated his body's binding needs, her own body's needs were pressing her on. She hadn't had a decent meal for over a month, but it probably felt like years. Scraps and crumbs were nothing to sniff your nose at but they couldn't beat a slice of meat and a glass of milk, and that's all she was searching for. That and a place to sleep through the night.
Jack Griffin had never trusted banks and, since he tried to avoid human interaction, he had stockpiled food that could last him a year. She didn't know that, she just knew that she had come upon a strange cabin in the middle of nowhere, and that she would much rather sleep in a house than outside again. The door was locked. I watched from one of the lab's windows as she circled the small cabin curiously. Eventually she found an open window; the one I was sitting behind (I may or may not have unlocked and opened it slightly for her). Once inside the girl was careful not to disturb the vials that littered the shelf beneath it. Unfortunately, as she balanced precariously above one rather full container when a very tempting mouse scurried between her arm and the wall. I couldn't help myself. With the quickness of, well a cat, I snapped the unsespecting mouse between my teeth. Regretably as I stood back up I bumped into the unsespecting girl's arm. She let out a screech of suprise and tumbled down to the floor.
I could feel my tail bush as I ran out of the girl's way and into Jack's room as glass crashed in around the girl, who had hit the floor with a loud bang. Griffin awoke with a start as the noise echoed through the empty house. I jumped on the bulge of blankets that indicated where his body was and let out a urgent meow. As he jumped towards his lab's dooI was flung from the bed. I followed right at his heals as Griffin entered the lab. We rounded the corner I stared in horror and amazement as the girl began to dissapear. She had long, messy hair that was a light, chestnut brown. It was dissapearing in ribbons that was both mesmerizing and strange. Her freckles were the next thing to slowly fade away. She looked in horror as her dirty fingertips vanished before her amber eyes, whihc were the last thing to dissapear. She couldn't see us which made her helpless glances even sadder.
I inched forward to the girl. Tears were beggining to stream down her barely visible cheeks. I let out a small mew. She jumped in suprise but then she smiled and stretched out her hand blindly in front of her. I pressed my head to her hand and purred happily. I looked at her to see a small smile on her lips before she was completely gone.
