Chapter 2

Okay, before I get into how much the government is full of sleazy slime balls, I can't get into that yet. First we'll get to the truly interesting part of this recalling of history.

Me.

During the time that the Klaen and the people of Earth were in a full out war, a woman, Amelia, to be exact, was just trying to find her place in the world. She was an aspiring nurse, trying to help people in any way she could. All she wanted to do was to make the world a better place. She was at work in a hospital where she tended to humans who were injured by the Klaen. They were mostly soldiers and innocent bystanders, but she did what she could. She made an effort to know everyone and be friends with everyone. She knew everyone's name and vice versa. She truly was one of the best people that you could ever meet.

B.K (Before Klaen), she was in nursing school at the top of her class. It was graduation day when they came. In fact, her name was just being called as they flew over their heads. It's kinda funny that way, how you think your life can stay on track, the way you want it to, and then it all gets ruined as soon as a spaceship flies over your head. As soon as the war between us and the Klaen started, Amelia was taken in by the Revolution (the human rebellion) and took extra studies to be an amateur doctor to help the soldiers wounded in battle.

Now the romantic part.

One day when Amelia was about to go home after working an extra shift, an injured soldier came in. And when I say injured, I mean fatally injured. Like, he was probably seconds away from death. And Amelia, being the kindhearted person she is, decided to personally tend to his wounds. He was about to die, his wounds fatal and Amelia nursed him back to proper help. And obviously, since she was the nurse who essentially saved the soldiers life, they got to know each other. His name was Daniel, and he's been in the war between The Revolution and the Klaen for 6 months. He was doing a covert operations where he was trying to pass himself as one of the Klaen. He was good, but not good enough, and was found out, detained, captured and tortured. He barely escaped with his life, as evident with his wounds.

"How did you manage to escape from such a terrible place?" she asked him

"Hey now, I can't tell you all my secrets before our first date. Why don't you tell me a little bit more about who the lady is behind the scrubs?" The smirk Daniel had on his face and the mischievous glint in his eyes said something else entirely.

Amelia's face heated up with embarrassment, but even she couldn't hold back a smile. "Shut up!!" holding back a smile and slapping him on the shoulder.

"Ow!!" he said, wincing.

Again Amelia blushed. She mumbled "sorry" and began to turn away, hoping he wouldn't see her brightly red tinged face. But he grabbed her hand and forcing her to gaze into his eyes. His eyes were so intense with emotion that he mesmerized her. She gazed into his eyes, unable of what to say as Daniel inched closer and closer. "Now, I'll ask again..." he asked leaning closer to her face, "who is this breathtakingly, beautiful lady behind the scrubs?"

And that was the beginning of their relationship. They fell instantly in love and got married. And with newfound determination, Daniel rose to leadership in The Revolution. He and Amelia tried to live a normal life, but with Daniel on the Klaen's radar, he was always on the run, hiding in who- knows- where. Daniel made it his mission to make sure no one knew Amelia was, never showing up on the Klaen radar. Most days, Daniel wouldn't even come home, and when he did he would end up with bruises and open wounds.

But Amelia and Daniel's loved never faltered. And they found a way to make it work. Soon Amelia was pregnant, and keeping her safe was even more important to Daniel. He stopped his Revolution work for a while, focusing on Amelia and his unborn child. But in a time full of chaos and destruction, when something finally starts to feel normal, one day it will always fall apart.
