I woke up to a constant beeping. I thought it was my alarm clock, but I was wrong. I opened my eyes to take in my surroundings and that night came flooding back. I winced as I felt a sharp pain shooting through my sides. I looked down to see that my sides were bandaged and had small blood spots on them. All that went through my mind was who could've done it. As my mind started to ponder the possibilities, I heard crashing and yelling. I tried to crane my neck to see out of the window on the door, but my sides stopped me.
Slam!
The door flung open to reveal an angry Trae. He looked like he hasn't been able to sleep, and he had grown a 5 o'clock shadow. I wanted to hide, but his piercing gaze found mine. He closed the door gently then made his way to me.
"Mace..." He said in a soft whisper.
I wanted to be mad at him so bad. I wanted to throw every single thing at him for leaving Kiva and I, but I couldn't. Because one, I'm unable to. Two, I couldn't find it in me.
He reached out and caressed my cheek with a concerned yet relieved look.
"Trae..." I said. My voice came out a broken whisper though. He took me into his arms and hugged me carefully, being aware of my wounds. I felt him shaking and I looked to see him with his eyes closed.
"Macy, who did this to you?" He asked. I shrugged. I didn't know who did it because they shot me then left and I couldn't see their face.
"You sure, Mace?" He asked me as he pulled away. I nodded. He sighed then sat in the chair beside my hospital bed.
"Why were you so worried about a waist wound?" I asked. He looked at me as if I had just grown a second head.
"What?" I asked.
"You were out for two weeks." He said. I gasped and looked at my wrist band. Sure enough I had been in here for two weeks.
"Wait, where's Kiva???" I shot up then cried out in pain, the wounds were still sore. He looked pained as if he'd felt the bullet wounds too. He gently situated me in a comfortable position and handed me his phone.
I called Aaliyah and she sounded strained.
"Trae is she up yet!!??" She asked frantically. I smiled a little.
"Yep she's up." I said. I heard Aaliyah scream and I cringed away from the phone.
"We're on our way." She said before hanging up. Did she know it was me....?
I handed him his phone and he set it on the table.
"Trae, I really missed you when you left, and so did Kiva." I told him. He looked down and nodded.
"I know baby girl. I had to though...she threatened something that I wouldn't dare let anyone harm." He replied and took my hands in his.
"Like what?" I asked.
"She threatened to have.... Are you sure you want to know?" He asked. I nodded.
"She threatened to have a friend of hers rape you while Kiva watched and got beaten." He looked upset as he spoke. I wish she would've fucking touched Kiva. I would've k--
"Macy, I wouldn't ever let her touch you, or Kiva." He said. I looked up at him and threw my arms around his neck. I could never really stay mad at him. He embraced me too, and for a minute it felt as if we are the only people that existed. I sighed in content and began to pull away slowly. We stopped halfway and our eyes met. His eyes flickered to my lips before going back to my eyes. I leaned in a little and pressed our lips together in a soft, affectionate kiss. He wanted to deepen it, but I pulled away and he smiled. Our lovely moment was interrupted by a strained pregnant woman, and the crew.
"Macy!!!!" I heard Aaliyah exclaim as she and everyone filed in. Kiva ran to me and Trae and climbed into Trae's lap then tried to climb into bed with me. I positioned her beside me and she hugged me. She held onto me for dear life and I rubbed her back soothingly. She looked up at me and smiled.
"I missed you mommy." She said and I kissed her forehead.
"Mommy missed you too sweetie." I replied and Trae looked down at his hands. Kiva sprung up as if it just occurred to her and hugged Trae. She held onto him and he held her back just as tightly. I looked away and at Meka, Aaliyah, Caine, and Jericka. They all had relieved smiles on their faces and I couldn't help but smile too.
Trae set Kiva on his hip and stood up. He looked so good in his light blue button down shirt and tie, white doctors coat, and khaki slacks. I especially loved how the pants made his...ahem...friend, show. He picked up the clipboard with my information on it and looked at me while writing stuff down.
"You guys, I'm gonna have to ask for privacy, I need to check her vitals, wounds and," he looked down the list of things and his eyes widened " y-your vagina?" He said, more as if he were asking himself. He reread them over and over again until he was finally convinced. Being that my wounds were close to there, I could kind of see why...If it were my pelvic bone!!! Everyone was shocked but filed out, and Kiva left too. He closed the door and set his clipboard down.
"Alright." He then proceeded to check my vitals, heart beat, breathing, ears etc. Then, my bikini area. He gently stood me up and asked me to lean back onto him for support. I had my chest to his back and he pulled my gown up. The cool air against my area made me gasp slightly, and he noticed this. He kissed my neck once, softly. I shuddered and he pressed down slightly on just above my clit. I bit my lip and looked down then he pressed again, but slightly lower. I moaned softly and he slipped a cautious finger between my lips and rubbed on my slit. I moaned and he pulled away.
"Wh-what?" I turned around and he was writing something on his clipboard. He looked up at me and set his clipboard down. I furrowed my brows in confusion and he pulled me close to him.
"Why did you have to touch my-"
"To make sure your lady parts were still operating. The gunshots were close to your ovaries so I had to make sure your lower half was still operating." He explained then kisses my forehead. I nodded and buried my head in his chest.
"Trae, I wanna go home." I whispered. All that my voice could do was whisper, so that was what I did. I felt him nod and I pulled away.
"But, we'll have to go to my house." He replied.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because they never found the suspect, and the person who did this doesn't know where I live." I nodded and he fixed the hospital gown to cover everything, then kissed me. It was quick, but held so much affection. I smiled and he turned off the machines and getting me a pair of sweats from his locker so that I could have on pants.
......
After we signed out, he drove us to my house and I held Kiva in my lap. Meka had to go to work, Jericka was watching Lisa and the boys for Aaliyah and Caine because they had another doctors appointment.
Me, Trae, and Kiva hung out and talked all day until it was her bedtime. We tucked her into his guest bedroom and he took me to his. We showered separately and I was able to clean my dirty body off. When I was sure I was clean, I got out and put on the pair of new boxers and the T-shirt Trae had given me. Feeling sleepy, I went to the couch and started to get situated. When I was almost comfortable, Trae came in, picked me up, and carried me to his bed where he laid me down and got in beside me. I looked at Jim confused but he just pulled my back to his chest and nuzzled his head in the crook of my neck.
"Trae...?" I asked him.
"Yeah Mace?" He replied. His cool breath on my neck sent chills down my spine.
"Thank you." I muttered before snuggling back into his warmth and dozing off.
