Nate's POV-

My parents were acting weird this morning.

They avoided my eyes at breakfast and didn't even say goodbye when I left for school. I walked into school prepared for the long frustrating day of learning and analyzing my parent's weird behavior only to be surrounded by the crowd of people at school.

I tried to fight the crowd but it was suffocating, all the bodies pressed together as people talked louder and louder to be heard over the combined noise. I got to my locker just as the bell rang. I was gonna be late but it's become a know habit of mine. I decided that I'd just skip this period rather than get yelled at again for being late.

"Hey, Nate do you want to hang out with me?" A brunette said winking at me.

"Sure." I said leading her into the janitors closet for a makeout session.

*****later that day***

I walked into the Gym searching for the coach so I could talk to him about football practice later. When someone tripped over me, it was Amelia the nerd in a couple of my classes and I'm pissed. She quickly got up and brushed herself off while apologizing to me.

"S-sorry." She stuttered.

What the hell did you do that for? Did you purposefully tripped over me, is that it? You're a disgrace!" I know I was over reacting but I have a reputation to uphold.

"I tripped on accident, you're an effing jerk." She's feisty, her fists were clenched and eyebrows scrunched up.

"Wow, I'm a jerk? You're the one who tripped over me." I pointed out the obvious.

"On accident and yes you're a jerk.. I've got to get back in the game, bye, and I'm sorry again." She ran back to her team mates and I was standing a few feet behind her not believing what I heard.

"Hey, coach." I said coming up to him and clapping him on the back.

"Nate, how are you?"

"I'm fine but I can't come to practice tonight. My parents have been acting weird and I need to figure out what's up."

"Okay but just this once." He shook his head at me.

"What happened with Amelia?" He questioned me.

"She tripped over me and when I tried to help her see she was in the wrong and she freaked out." I said waving at him as I walked away.

I skipped the next couple of classes. My mind was racing by lunch and I needed answers. I drove home at lunch to confront my parents.

"I'm home. Where are y'all?" I called setting my keys in the bowl by the door.

"In here sweetie, why aren't you at school?" Mom called from the living room.

"Had a lot on my mind. What's up with y'all?" I questioned them as I slid into a seat.

"Um, we made a deal years ago with your father's business partner, Julian Stone, and we agreed that you are going to marry his only daughter Amelia." She looked down at her hands, playing with her fingers as she told me their decision.

"No, this can't be happening. Seriously she's a nerd and I'm popular, no, no, no, no!" I stood up running to my room and throwing myself on my king sized bed.

Dad came in unannounced and without knocking. I sat up and looked at him.

"How could you do this to me?" I said.

"This isn't a one way deal, you'll see. Before you know it you'll love her just like I love your mother." He patted me on the back and stood up from his crouched position.

"Sure whatever." I rolled over putting my face into my pillows.

Mom called me from downstairs and told me to go back to school.

I went to a local restaurant instead, and stalled until school was 20 minutes from ending.

I got to school just as the bell rang walking over to where the nerds park their cars and leaned against her car until she came out.

She walked up to me and tried to shove me off so she could get in but I stopped her by holding onto her shoulders strongly.

"We need to get to know each other Amelia." I said before walking off to my black vanquish and driving off.

I got home in less than 20 minutes and walked in just to be told to get dressed that we are going to have dinner with the Stones.

I tried to stay calm and collected while I got dressed and hopped into the car.

I knocked on the door waiting for someone to come and put me out of my misery before to my future opened.
