Emilies P.O.V

"Emilie!" Mum's sweetly agressive voice beckoned my downstairs ready for the first day back at High School. Sighing, I clambered out of bed not bothering to make it, that can be done later. The sun shone threw my un-opened curtains, somehow  hurting my eyes.

"Emilie! You're going to be rushing if you don't hurry up!" What?

"YA Angliyskiy" Why would I be Russian if I don't be quick? Ha, what a weirdo.

The front door opened and closed again meaning Katy had already left. She's my step sister and I despise her. So full of herself, ugh. Half the time she's out with her so-called mates getting spray tans, false eyelashes, manicures etc and then always complimenting herself when really it's not her, fricking Barbie doll. Anyway, I need to get downstairs before I turn what, Spanish..

"What took you so long? I've been waiting for you for ages, you're toast is going to go cold soon. And you might not make it to the bus stop in time, you can't be late for your first day! " Mum seriously needs to calm down.

"So-rry, I'm just tired and I needed to make sure I was still fully English, somehow I don't think I'm multi-cultural." The look on her face made me want to laugh but I held it in my biting the side of my cheek. Grabbing my toast, I sit at the Dining Table, trying to eat it all fast so I would have enough time to look at least half decent for today. The small knot in my stomach grew as I continued to eat. What if this year turns into a complete embarrassment? What if I fail my GCSE's? Will everyone hate me? What if the people I thought liked me secretly hate me? Woah, I need to relax, it's going to be fine. Exhaling deeply, I placed my plate in the washer and went upstairs to take a shower.

Hot, steamy water cleared my thoughts whilst I relaxed my tense muscles and sang quietly to myself, hoping it would brighten my mood. I turned to where I keep my Shampoo and Conditioner but it wasn't there. Great. I quickly hoped out the shower and reached to where the new bottles were and jumped back in, to find myself slipping and hitting my head on the tap. "Ouch!" This day better improve or I'm going to find myself punching some innocent frog in the face, um okay.

...

I took one last glance in the mirror fixing my curled blonde hair and re-applying a swipe of pink gloss to my lips before grabbing my school bag and heading out the door and down the stairs.

"Look at you! You're looking so smart darling, give your Ma a kiss!" She pulled me into a forceful hug, so tight I could only just manage to breathe. I pulled away after a few seconds, gasping for air. Smiling, I picked up my keys from the cabinet before saying a goodbye. "Have a good day Em, it'll be fine! Call me if there's any problems sweetheart, I love you." She's loving and all, just way too caring and 'fussy'. But I love her for it.

"Love you too Mum!" I shout, running out the door. The hot sun started baking me at once. I should have worn my skirt instead of trousers. Well, this is going to be my first mistake of the school year. After 5 minutes of walking through the blazing sun, I arrived at the bus stop when the bus just pulled in, thank God I got here in time. I showed my pass to the driver then quickly scanned the seats to see if there was anyone I knew. Ah, Becca was seated 2 rows from the back and I made my way to join her when I saw she had a boy next to her. Daniel.

Dan's one of the new boys yet he already thinks himself one of the coolest at our school, and that's cringey. I hate anyone who's big-headed, and especially him, he's a jerk.

"Emilie, hey girl!" I turn to Becca who's smiling like she's just been given a new Ferrari. No exxageration. Her hair looks a darker shade of brown than usual, or maybe I just haven't seen her for a while..

"Hey, how are you?" My whole 'excited' voice failed miserably but she didn't seem to notice.

"I'm great! Have you met Dan before? You probably have, I mean, who hasn't?" Ugh, here she goes bragging about her most probably new boyfriend.

"Yeah..we've bumped into eachother a couple of times." I made sure I hinted the 'bump' because all he seems to do is push me around, geez, I hope he's matured over the six weeks, I really don't want to deal with his shit attitude.

We soon finished our small talk and I put my headphones in and text Steph asking her to meet me by the main gates of school. The rest of my nerve-racking journey was spent in silence and worrying thoughts about how the rest of my day will go.
