As soon as I walk through the door and place my bags next to the stairs Mums voice echoed through the hall.
"Where have you been?!" I've not heard her quite this angry for a while..fuck.
"I um, I was in detention with Mrs Skipps because-"
"Don't lie to me Emilie! I watched you pull up in our drive with a boy! A boy! Do you think it's acceptable to come home almost an hour late because you were out with some boy? Well, do you?" She was shouting way too loud.
"Mum, just let me explain alreaady! I happened to fall asleep in-"
"You fell asleep with that boy?! Emilie why are you being so stupid? He could've taken advantage over you, you know that and you still sleep with him? Are you out of your mind?! Get out and go to your room and wait for me to call you back down, I'm talking to your father about this; you disgrace me young woman!"
Why won't she let me have my say in things? He's just my mate who also had a detention after school with Mr Parkes and I bumped into him after school and he offered me a lift home. I wish she would stop assuming things all of a sudden, it's not fair.
