When one thing goes wrong it seems that everything else goes wrong. I'm 15 and I lost my parents two months ago. How did I lose them? I lost them in the war.

We are in World War III right now. Everything is just crazy. Not only is the economy completely collapsed, but every where you go there are explosives. No one can really leave where they are without being shot at or tackled to the ground. Everyone is against each other. No one is anyone's friend. We are all enemies.

I live everyday scared of what is going to happen next. I live with a group of friends who lost their parents as well. We all trust each other. I think everyone trusts the people in their household, it's just the ones outside of it that we all have to be concerned about. I'm not worried about anyone here pulling a gun on any of us or trying to blow us all up. I am confident that we all are trustworthy because each other is all we have left.

In our group there are three girls and four guys. Trisha is the one that I found first. Sydney is the second one I found. Then, there's me.

I found the four guys already in their own group. We decided to join groups to have more weapons and people to keep watch. Chase, Marshall, Jake and Paxton make up that group.

I didn't know until I brought the group of guys home that Paxton was Sydney's brother. It was just a beautiful moment when they reunited. They had been away from each other for four months and they thought each other were dead. There were plenty of happy tears that day.

Me on the other hand, I have none of my family left. I'm an only child, so when my parents died, I was alone. I don't know what I would have done if these guys weren't so trusting and agreed to form a group. Honestly, I would probably be dead. We have had to fight so many times and save each other so many times that if I were on my own I would have never made it.

I lay down on the floor trying to sleep, but it is just so impossible. All the thoughts about my parents and how our group got together. I hate it when times like these happen, but God is definitely with us in this rough time. I give a lot of thanks to Him. He brought us together. We pray before we start the day and at the end of the day together and then individually whenever we need it throughout the day.

I lay there a little longer and then my parent's attack floods my memory. I'm sitting at the table eating dinner with them when the door is busted down. We jump out of our chairs and grab guns. My dad steps in front of my mom and I, then the five guys standing there fire at him. He hits the ground right in front of me. Blood spills out of his abdomen. I stand up and shoot 3 of the guys. The other 2 get ready to shoot at me and my mother steps in front of me. She shoots bullets at the same time they do and the other guys' bullets hit her. She only hit one guy. I took my gun and shot the last guy.

I collapsed on my knees and sobbed. I looked at my mom and she had blood pouring out of her chest. I had nothing else to do, but to leave. I grabbed a bag full of clothes, another gun, and all of my bullets. I walked out of the house and kicked every single one of the 5 guys on my way out. I sobbed and walked until I heard something. I hid behind a huge tree and peeked around it. It was a girl crying just as I was.

"Hello?" I said.

"Who's there?" The girl asked startled and held up her gun ready to shoot.

"Don't shoot," I said coming from behind the tree.

"Who are you?" She asked lowering her gun.

"I'm Mary," I said holding out my hand.

"I'm Trisha," she responded shaking my hand.

"It's nice to meet you," I said. "I noticed you were crying."

"Yeah, my parents were just killed," she said crying again.

"Yeah, I understand. My parents were just killed too," I explained.

We exchanged apologies and then we set off together. We came across Sydney and took her in, then the same with the guys.

I play this every night in my head and just cry until I fall asleep.
