Peridots point of view

I watched as her long light-lavender hair swayed, blew, and twisted behind her. It was absolutely breathtaking. I reached up to touch my own hair. I attempted to run my small green fingers trough it, unfortunately, to no avail. As soon as I managed to force them into the large green clump, they got stuck. Since my hair was a large triangle, quite horse, and unmanageably stiff, it took some hard tugging to finally free my poor fingers from the mess.

I sighed aloud, letting my head fall back and rest against hard wall of the barn I had come to call home. What in all of homeworld were these things Amethyst made me feel? I got, as they would say on earth, 'butterflies' in my stomach. Although I had no idea what butterflies were, I was quite positive they had invaded my stomach region. And they needed to evacuate. Now.

I watched as she ran around in the grassy field with Steven. They were playing a game Earthlings call 'tag'. The game confused me, but it was still amusing to watch, considering it did involve Amethyst.

"You're thinking about her again!!!" A voice echoed in my head. "What am I even doing? What are these 'feelings' the purple one makes me feel?!?" I let out a huge sigh. "Why on all of planet Earth does Amethyst fill my stomach with flying butter?!?" Unfortunately for myself, the game of 'tag' seemed to had been concluded, and the exact gem giving me 'feelings' along with 'butterflies' was currently approaching me.

I extremely quickly tried to fix my hair that I assumed must have been turned into a complete mess, considering the fact I had not-so-long-ago got my tiny fingers tangled as well as stuck in it. Although I was still a nervous and confused wreak, I put on my 'game face' as she approached closer.

I couldn't help but Basque in the purple ones beauty. Everything suddenly seemed to move in slow motion, like it did on Camp Pining Hearts when Percy and Pierre were running towards each other, about to have a romantic moment of some sort. I watched, wide-eyed, as Amethyst seemed to effortlessly look extremely beautiful, by only walking. There was no way that what she was doing was simply 'walking'. Any being could 'walk'. But whatever she was doing, was a million times more breathtaking.

Before I knew it Amethyst was standing over me. Smiling her huge, beautiful, marvelous smile. I still didn't understand how she could be so effortlessly breathtaking. It was beyond anything I had ever witnessed, and knew I ever would. I took a deep breath.

"Hey P-dot. " She said it as if it meant nothing. As if I didn't make my breath catch in my throat. As if it didn't make my heart beat one hundred times faster.

I needed to force some words out.

However, that ended up being harder than I planned.

"O-oh hey A-Amethyst....uhh....w-what's up?" Unfortunately, I stuttered uncontrollably, and my voice seemed to 'crack' at the conclusion of my sentence. However, that did not stop me from hoping she didn't notice.

"You ok Peri? You seem a little... tense." The words rolled off Amethyst's tongue so smoothly, I was in shock for a second.

Obviously, I had not the slightest idea how to respond. No. I was not okay. In fact, I was far from okay. But it's not like I was going to admit that to Amethyst.

"O-of course I'm ok! Why wouldn't I be?" It didn't come out as smoothly as I would have liked it to, and it definitely sounded more demanding than intended, but it was still a step up from last time.

"Geez, sorry Peri. You just seemed more tense. That's all." She seemed to glare at me after concluding her sentence. I desperately hoped it was only my imagination, and she wasn't truly mad at me.

"U-uh, it's......fine. I'm just.... t-thinking, is all." I smiled to myself. "That came out better than I thought I would" I thought proudly.

"Mmm" Amethyst, ever so wonderfully, hummed. "About what?"

"Damn" I thought "Why must she be so gorgeous......wait....damn?" I looked back up at Amethyst. "Yeah. Definitely damn."

I'm not to found of cussing, but I must admit, when it came to Amethyst, I really didn't care.

"Wait, shit. She asked me a question. How in homeworld do I answer?!? Uh... I'll just wing it."

Yeah Peri. Not your best plan.

"Oh, you know, feelings.... a-and stuff...." After I finished I looked away from her. I didn't want to make awkward eye-contact, considering I was already blushing like a mad man.

She plopped herself down next to me. Although I didn't think it possible,I felt even more heat rise to my checks. Oh my God was she beautiful.

"Feelings? What kind? Maybe I could give ya some advice." Then she did something that caught me so off guard, I'm surprised I didn't somehow just poof right then and there.

She winked. Amethyst winked. I sat there with my mouth wide open for what felt like forever. In reality it was probably more like five seconds. But still.

"Shitshitshitshitshitshit" I thought once I came to my senses. "What do. I tell her?!?!?! Uhhhh, hunger? No. That won't work. I can't just straight up say love!!! I guess I'm winging it again."

Once again. Not my best decision.

"Mmmm... I'm not sure, actually" I immediately regretted my decision.

"Oh! Okay then! Let's see..... What does it do to you?" She make direct eye contact with me at the conclusion of the sentence.

"Well shit" I thought. "I guess I have no choice but to tell her the truth. Amethyst probably doesn't even know what love is anyway"

Oh boy was I wrong.

"Eh, well, it just makes my stomach region feel weird and tingly when, um, they are around. They also make my checks very hot even if they are just walking. Plus they constantly crowd my thoughts." Peridot concluded.

Amethyst looked shocked for a second.

"Peridot" she started "You're in love!"

"Fuck"
