Aaron froze, looking dead into Aphmau's eyes. She looked terrified, but mostly furious. Her hands were patting down her body, like she was afraid he had done something to her. He blushed and contemplated just running for it.
"Hey! I'm talking to you!" She yelled. "What the hell are you doing in my hotel room?!!"
When he refused to answer again, Aphmau jumped up from where she lay. She moved faster than Aaron thought she would. She pounced upon Aaron and tackled him to the ground, struggling to keep him pinned down beneath her.
"Ugh!" She groaned. "You're the worst kind of pervert!"
Aaron finally managed to weaken her hold on him and turn them over so that he was the one on top. "I am not a pervert." He said. "I don't know why everyone keeps assuming that I am, but I assure you that I have not violated you."
She snorted at him. "Sure." She snarled. "You aren't a pervert. You know, my ex said the same thing."
"What, Gene?" Aaron asked. Aphmau went pale, and Aaron knew that he had guessed right. "How do you know his name?" Aphmau demanded. "TELL ME!"
"Alright!" Aaron shouted. "Okay! Fine! I'll tell you, just calm down!"
Aphmau stopped struggling, but she was still glaring him down. Aaron decided to deal with it. This was probably the best he would get for now. He sighed and sat back, letting her wrists go and lifting his weight off of her. He was surprised when she didn't try to run. She just sat back and stared at him, waiting for his explanation. Aaron decided that he liked her spirit.
"I've done a bit of... Research on you." Aaron said. He was choosing his words carefully. Aphmau was still for now, but he could tell that at the slightest sign of danger that she would take flight. Like a sparrow.
She raised her eyebrow at him. "Research." She repeated. "You're kidding me, right?"
Aaron sighed. He had been afraid of this. "I am not a stalker."
"I don't know, that sounds pretty stalker-ish to me." Aphmau said. "What, do you have a shirt of mine in your underwear drawer?"
Aaron growled. "Listen to me!" He demanded.
"No." Aphmau spat. "You listen to me. My mother died today. I am not in the mood to shut up and listen to your bullshit. You are going to tell me why you're here and why you took me away from the hospital!"
Aaron held back a smile. He liked her more and more every minute. She wasn't another girl who just sat down and did what people told her to do. She asked questions. She demanded what she wanted. Aph wasn't the kind of girl to let people push her around. Aaron liked people like that. Especially the girls.
"Okay." Aaron agreed. "I am here because you passed out at the hospital, which is also why I took you away. You weren't emotionally capable of being there."
She snorted, blushing a little. "Why do you care?"
"Unfortunately, I don't feel as though I can tell you that. At least, not yet."
"Then when?!" She screamed, punching his chest. "When will you start giving me answers?!"
He calmly shoved her off. "I am excusing your behavior because of your loss today." Aaron said. "But I suggest refraining from hitting me in the future."
"Shut up, Aaron!" She snarled. "You're in my hotel room uninvited! Isn't this breaking the law?!"
He shrugged. "Everyone knows I break the law. But that's the thing about being rich. As soon as you earn enough money, you begin to realize that the law turns a blind eye to the shit you do."
