Chapter 3: Ready for Love?

Selene's POV, a month after break up

"Hey, do you want to come to my birthday party?" Connor asked. 

"Yeah, sure why not." I replied.

It has been a month since my break up with Ken, I feel so much better, after Connor comforted me, he has been preoccupying my mind with other things like organising parties and decorating, both of which I love to do.

"So your planning my party?" He asked.

"Sure. Since you got me into it, I'll plan an extravagant party for you." I said.

Time for me to get busy again. I needed to create a memorable party for Connor's 14th birthday. Even though we have only met for 2 years, we were good friends. 

"Not too extravagant, I don't have that much money to budget the party." he said.

"Okay, just gimme your budget and I'll plan accordingly." I replied

"First, we have to deal with the venue, decorations, food and party favours. All of these are important" I said to Connor.

"Venue: my house. decorations: try for a boyish theme. the rest is up to you" He replied.

At that, I started planning for Connor's birthday party. 

Selene's POV, At Connor's birthday party

"Thank goodness, the food is finally here." I say to Connor.

It was his 14th birthday. I was frantic and worrying about everything. I was a mess. Everything was going well but the food had arrived late, so some of the party people were hungry. But the food arrived.

"Go take a break, have some fun. Don't worry yourself." Connor said.

He was always like this, he just goes with the flow. If anything was wrong, he would just brush it off. It was a bad habit of his. 

"Okay." I just shoved him away.

So, I just went to look for people to talk to. In my peripheral vision, I spot this guy, all alone. He was one of the kids in our class. I've never talked to him, so I decided to go chat with him.

"Hi, My name is Selene. What's yours?" I asked.

"Hi, I'm Jonathan." He said. His deep voice was like music to my ears, his words like a lullaby putting me to sleep.

"Why are you here?" I asked, with a lack of creative questions to ask.

"Oh, Connor has been my friend for 8 years, we met since primary school." He said

"Oh, Wow. That's a long time." I said 

 Soon, we were chatting and laughing. I started to like this guy. He was so charming. 

Oh my, I'm falling in love again. I don't want to end up like one month ago, but he's so cute.
