After another day seeing thought the window, the moon rises, and with it, the dark night soon cover the road and the mansion.
Inside the old wooden wall, the mansion looked like brand new, like was constructed on the last day, lots of rooms covered with carpets like it was a royal palace, and all places covered by candlesticks, yet to be lit.
"Well... Another "great" day of loneliness, I remember when I was used to live everyday a new, I miss that..." said Tarok while the dark soon block his view inside the mansion.
"But, as everyone know, you can't live in the past". After he said that, with a snap of his fingers all candles blazed up, revealing a long hall with a purple carpet that ended up on a staircase.
Everything was so colossal, candlesticks running all staircase and every hall, pictures of what appears to be figures of mythological creatures and castles all across the halls and doors with golden brands.
Strangely, even with such a great view, the mansion was nearly empty, one hall as a giant library, one bedroom and the rest was unused halls of what could be others berdroom, bathroom and dinning room aside of the kitchen.
Tarok just enters the library and sits at the great armchair. Looking at the tall bookshelves emotionless. Everything was so quiet, even the winds outside wasn't loud as every night.
After a deep breath, the mage murmured to himself: "I feel like something isn't right, like... I don't know, I'm living here almost 2 years, but looks like I lived 3000 years inside this walls". Holding a laugh, he continues: "Sounds like irony, but I never wanted to live this long... is just... boring... especially now that nothing surprises me".
After say that, a flash happened thought the library's window, followed by a loud sound. A storm started outside.
Tarok stand up and walks to the window, seeing the rain starting to fall on his garden."At least the climate changes surprises me sometimes". Thinks him.
A strange sound is hear far on the mansion, like glass being broken followed by something falling into the floor. Tarok turns to the library's door and in a blink of a eye appears on the central hall of the mansion, seaching for what or who did the sound.
Soon he go upstairs, he turn and found the window on the corridor broken, all the glass on the floor and the candles off, everything was dark. He looks around carefully.
A sound of metal being unsheathed and a smooth voice come right up him.
"This is your end, filthy monster!"
A sound of a sword, more specifically a katana, cutting the air comes, but is easily dodged by Tarok who fasten turn to face the invasor with energy coming out of his silver eyes.
