(Hey everyone! Sorry about the late update. I finally found my notebook that I had written this story in like two years ago. I don't know when I'll type up the next chapter, so hopefully you guys can forgive me for now. Anyway, enjoy! Love you all!)

Zero trained me hard until five in the morning. He let me take it easy for the last hour, and then I went back to my dorm.

I took a quick shower to was the sweat and dirt from my body, and then put on a clean uniform. I left my gun in my dresser, and went to class.

I got there right before the bell rang for class to begin. Zero was already there, shockingly, and had his notebook out in front of him.

"When did Zero get here?" I asked Yori, looking over to her. Shed had her notebook out in front of her as well, so I quickly pulled out mine.

"He was here when I came in," she said, and. then looked up at me from her notes. She sighed. "Isabelle, I know that you work late with the Disciplinary Committee. We both do. But seriously, were you training all night?"

"Yeah," I said, and then quickly filled her in about the letter I had received from the hunting society people and everything it had said. I told her also to tell me if I looked like I was going to fall asleep, and if so then to wake me.

she said that she would let me copy her notes, and soon after she had finished her sentence, the teacher yelled at us for talking. When he turned his back toward us, I looked over at Yori and smiled.

I surprisingly made it through the whole day without falling asleep. (Okay, I did nap at lunch, but that was it!) I didn't steal notes from Yori, and Zero seemed impressed. After classes were over, I went to my dorm, picked up a book, and began to read.

A while later, I put down the book and went over to my dresser and opened the second drawer. I pulled out my gun and tied it to my leg. I wore a long uniform to cover it and to keep the wind and sun off, then headed outside.

It was daylight, and the sun was high in the sky. The wind made it chilly, but the sun was still blinding. I held up my hand to shade my eyes as I ran to the gate.

The only thing that I was happy about was that it was Friday. I wouldn't have to guard the gate quite as much over the weekend, and I could use saved time to do homework I needed to catch up on or train in the woods with Zero.

I got to the gate, and only a couple of girls were there. In fact, they were the brunette and black haired girls from yesterday.

"Well, look who's here," the black haired girl said, hands on her hips.

"Please, go back to your dorms. It's past your curfew," I said as nicely, yet still commanding, as I could.

"Not yet, it's not," said the brunette.

"It will be by the time the gate opens," I pointed out, "so please go back to your dorms."

"What if we don't?" They asked.

"Then I'll need your names and class numbers."

The girl's just smirked. "Fine, we'll go."

They turned to leave, and I turned to go talk to some other girls who were trying to convince each other to climb over the wall.

Once my back was turned, the girls who'd left both punched me in the back, surprising me and knocking the breath out of me. I fell to the ground, and tried to breathe and defend myself at the same time without pulling my gun on them.

I did a terrible job. I was punched multiple times in the face and kicked in the stomach before I heard someone from behind the girl's clear their throat.

I was expecting to see Zero, because somehow he always seems to come to my rescue. But I was only half right.

Standing next to Zero was Headmaster Cross.

***

I went to the Headmaster's bathroom to try to wash the blood from my face. Yori had insisted that she and Zero could handle the switch, especially without Mary and Kaira (the brunette and black haired girls). I was still scrubbing my face when Zero got back and came into the bathroom.

I looked at him through the mirror.

"You're back," I said.

He took his shirt off and quickly put a different one on. "Obviously."

"Shut up. Why are you back so early, anyway?"

"The smell of your blood got the Night Class too worked up to walk around the Day Class students, so classes were canceled for tonight."

"Oh..."

I glanced at Zero though the mirror again. He was smirking.

"You're stupid, you know that?"

I turned to face him. "Why?"

"Because you can't even fight a couple of human girls. No wonder the Hunter's Society doesn't accept you."

"Shut up!" I screamed and threw a wet towel at him, which he dodged easily.

Of course, he was right. I lacked skill and focus. Even if I'd been trying to hurt them, I still would've lost. That's why Zero's training me. No one else could make me see things the way he could.

I finished washing my face and put a bandage on my cheek, then opened the bathroom door.

"Are we training tonight, Zero?" I asked.

"No. The Night Class will probably be out tonight looking for blood. I'm going to help Yori. You get some rest."

I nodded, then walked to my dorm, yawning.

I was walking up the stairs of the girls' dormitory when I noticed a night class student walking around, almost like she was looking for someone. In fact, it was the girl who had been talking about me a few days earlier with other night class students.

I stopped her. "What are you doing here?" I asked curiously, but also ready to pull my gun if necessary.

Her face seemed to light up when she saw me, then she put her hands on my shoulders. "How much do you know about your past?"

Strange question. "Why do you want to know?"

"Because I think I figured it out. I told the headmaster, and he thinks I'm right. Now I need you to come with me so he can tell you. You'll believe him more than you will me."

"What's going on? Is this a prank? Look, if you hate that I'm on the Disciplinary Committee, then I'll-"

"It's not that at all," she said. "I know you heard me talking about you, and I was talking about this. No one believed me, but I'm sure it's true. I think I've figured out your missing past."
