A Bubble Popped, is Another Blown

Aloha Alola!

The light of the sun shone brightly over the island of MeleMele, I could feel the warmth of the the light casting through the window of the room. It was hard not to get up due to the fresh air, the sounds of Pokemon, and the idea of adventure coming to mind. I got out of bed and looked over in my room, still the same, but it shouldn't really change since we haven't been here for more than a few hours. "Shade, I need your help with unpacking some of these boxes, could you help?" I heard my mom call from the other room. I got out of my bed, put on my normal clothes and went to go see what she needed help with. "There you are, you must've been as tired as a Komala if you slept for that long, it's almost mid-day." She said while showing a small smile, showing that she was more joking than anything. "Yeah, the flight here kind of made me sleepy, but i'm all rested up and ready to unpack." I said starting to open a box that was on the table. "Well that's good, since we have some work to do, and I don't think these boxes will unpack themselves. Honey, why don't you start unpacking the boxes over there?" She said picking up some boxes and putting them over in the kitchen. I open one of the boxes and find an old picture of us when we were in Kanto. I looked further in the box to find a lot of old things that I thought would never have been kept in the move. I put the picture back in the box and brought it into my mom's room, setting it down near her bed. After hours passed by we finally got unpacked, at least the needed things were unpacked. "I think that's enough for now honey. Can you go and check the mail while I make dinner?" My mom asked getting the ingredients. "Sure mom." I said while I opened the door and went down the steps. Opening the Mailbox, I saw a note with a Pokéball attached to it. The note read:

This is my welcoming gift from the Kahuna, cousin. Hope you like your new partner.

"New partner?" I asked looking at the Pokéball. "There's only one way to tell what it is." I looked at the ball it seemed to have a small water symbol, taking one last glance at the note I grabbed the ball and threw it in the air. Bubbles formed and a figure appeared on a rock near where i was standing. "Bwark?" It sounded like it was confused. It sounded familiar, I remember reading about the starter Pokémon every trainer get when they want to become a Pokémon trainer. If I remember right, this sound comes from the water-type Popplio. When the bubbles disappeared my guess was correct. "Hey, buddy, you're Popplio right,my name's Shade. Looks like your my new friend." I tried my best to keep calm, since I still hadn't gotten used to Alola yet. "Bwark." Now I wish I could understand Pokémon. "Why don't I take you inside and introduce you to my mom? Im sure she won't mind a little one like you in the house." I said picking up the Popplio. I just personally didn't like the idea of Pokéballs, plus it feels like you can get closer to your Pokémon this way. "Was there any mail?" I heard my mom ask. "Yeah, but it wasnt normal mail." I said walking into the kitchen. My mom turned around, with her hands covered in some sauce. "Dont worry, I just need to wash my hands. I can see that it wasn't normal mail, so who's this little cutie?" She asked. "This is Popplio, Professor Kukui sent it in the mail, he said this was my new partner." I said looking closer at my new friend. "Well, don't keep her waiting. You're her new trainer, so you should get out there and be one! After you eat, go to Kukui's house and thank him for the gift." She said. After eating my food I pick up Popplio again and head to Professor Kukui's house. "I'll be back later mom." I said before closing the door and leaving the house.

A/N: Finally, Chapter 1 of "A Bubble Popped, is Another Blown" is finished! Sorry for the long wait, I got hit with writer's block, and then had to rewrite a certain part to continue. Don't worry, after these first few chapters, it'll go more smoothly. Hope you all enjoyed!
