***Loki's POV***

It had been months since I had seen her. Every night I had looked for the familiar form darting between the rows in the gardens below, but every night there was nothing but empty silence. I felt as if I might explode from the pressure that had built inside my head. All I could do was pace in front of my window and pray she would come tonight. I stopped pacing and moved out onto my balcony. The breeze moved, pushing the warm outside air across my face. I had always enjoyed evenings like this one, where the moon hung in the clear sky and the soft summer wind blew lazily, but my mind was not on the night. My thoughts were focused on only one thing, the only thing they ever seemed to focus on: Allyra.

I decided to go down to the grounds to get my thoughts together. Walking through our gardens always helped ease my strain a little. I closed my eyes and was swept away into the familiar green light. It surrounded me and I floated through it for a few seconds before feeling my feet meet the gravel. My thoughts had brought me right to the Arubae, Allyra's favorite flower. I stroked its petals, the soft ringing doing nothing to aid my sadness. Suddenly, I heard a voice behind me, a voice I feared I would never hear again. "Loki?"
