"I think its obvious that this town is fucked so we need to escape, we will go through the woods and hopefully not make contact with any of the infected." I said trying to take authority.
"What if we do come in contact with them?" a student asked with fear in his voice.
"Then we fight it" I said confidently to hopefully raise morale unfortunately i failed.
"Fight them? They are better than us in everyway, we are kids we can't win." he said as Gabby stands up but i put my hand up slightly signaling that its okay.
"I understand your concerns so ill head to an armory and see if i can get some weapons and ammo. Itll be better if i travel alone. The rest of you gather up food and supplies, a lot of it and if they come, hide" They all give me nod and begin looking for supplies as a teacher walks up to me and hands me and .45 caliber pistol. "Where'd you get this?" I asked
"I had it at my house, i was planning to take off today but when i heard about the incident i brought it to protect my students. Ajax come back safe." He smiles as i run out of the school. Of course Gabby tried to stop me but was held back by other student.
The teacher who handed me the weapon was English teacher who i always hated because he assigned a lot of work and was always hard on us now i realize that he was only hard on us to prepare us for the real world. I snuck through the woods looking at what was once a town, The town known as silvershore was now the equivalent to hell. Houses were burning or ashes, people were screaming as piecing gunshots could be heard in the distance. I felt like everytime a heard a gunshot a scream went silent.
Eventually I came across the armory which was guarded by two of those things. I sigh and mumble "How am i gonna do this? If i shoot then others might hear but if i try to sneak up they might see me....fuck" i thought through my options then i thought of something. I picked up a large rock and threw it behind the building. Despite having enhanced brain capabilities the idiots still fell for it.
I snuck into the armory undetected and grabbed as many weapons, clips and attachments i could carry. I decided to grab a M16A4 with a surpressor and red dot for myself then i put a MP5 on my back as a back up weapon "there! That should be enough. I glance out through the windows to see the guards return to their original positions. I carefully aim my gun at them and fire killing both of them with 3 shots each. I sprinted as fast as i could to the school. Little did i know i was getting watched the entire time.
As i got back to the school i handed out the weapons "Guys we have to move quickly, they are gonna catch on soon!" everyone nods to my response as we all load our weapons. A boy sat down loading his until a energy blade went through the wall straight through head, his eye on the tip of the blade which soon melted. Everyone looked terrified. "Guys come on we Gotta go!!" I yelled as the Nano-infested humans broke through the wall crushing two more students.
The rest of ran as they began to open fire at us. Me and Gabby returned fire providing some students the opportunity to get out of the class "Gabby go!!" Gabby moves behind me and exits the class with me following behind her. Everyone ran as fast as we can as we could, soon the bridge became in view and it was the only way out the town however it had a bulwark of 15 infesteds who saw us coming.
We all took cover and fought from both sides. Surprising all the students were fighting, it was probably the adrenaline. We were losing numbers fast and on top of that we were fight in front and behind us. We were about to lose hope but we heard sniper shots from the east. All we saw was the infested humans by the bridge drop. "come on everyone we are leaving!!" I shouted as everyone began to run the sniper began to come into view and it was Gabby's dad.
Gabby stood there for a second shocked but i grabbed her hand and made her follow the rest of us as her dad stands in front of the bridge "Go kids go!!" he shouted as tears swelled up in Gabby's sparkling brown eyes. The last thing i saw was here dad killing multiple of the infesteds then blowing up the bridge which took him down with it.
"DAD NO DAD!!! AJAX LET ME GO I NEED HIM IN MY LIFE!!" She shouted while crying, i simply kept pulling her trying my best not to let her go. Its what he would've wanted. As we go to safety Gabby started punching me angry about how i didn't let her go back.
"Gabby im sorry but if you would've went back then you would've died. Don't be reckless!! I understand how you feel but save that anger for the battlefield!" I yelled at her, i was pretty cruel there but it was the truth. She kept crying as i pulled her into a tight hug not letting go till she stops. This was our life now and we have to get used to it. Hopefully this will be resolved soon but i doubted it.
