New Friend

I was walking to my locker to go grab my History book when I very beautiful Brown haired girl came up to me. "Hey there! I'm Lana! You're new?". "Hey, yeah I am. My names Melanie but you can call me Mel" I smiled. "Ou nice name!". "Thanks" I reply. "So what classes do you have this semester?". "Looks like, Chemistry, History, Cosmo and Cooking!" I say. "Oh wow we have the last three classes together! That'll be fun" "Here let's walk to History" she says smiling then leading the way. I could tell her and I we're going to be great friends. We walk into our history class and sit down beside eachother. The class was pretty boring and all we did was introduce ourselves and play games. Lunch came and Lana asked me if I wanted to sit with her in the cafeteria. Ofcourse I did though, she was the only person I really knew other than Troye. We walked to the cafeteria and sat down and ate some lunch. I ate an apple and some carrots. And she ate an apple and some pretzels. We talked about our lives at home and I learned Lana's parents fight a lot. She thinks they're getting a divorce because her father had an affair. She overheard them fighting one day. I told her about how my parents divorced when I was 5 because my dad became an alcoholic and my mom didn't want to be in that environment, for her but mostly she didn't want that for me. I've talked to him a few times since in the phone like for my birthday or Christmas, just special events. But I haven't seen him since. While Lana and I we're talking and eating I looked up to see Troye from a distance. Our eyes met and his sparkled. He smiled and waved as he walked away. I smiled and waved back shyly. Lana saw me wave to him and she jumped up. "Melanie! Do you guys have a thing?" she said surprised and grinning. "Haha no, we just met, just friends" I reply laughing. "Mhmmm" she said smiling. Then I just rolled my eyes while laughing. Before lunch ended I got Lana's number. Then her and I went to the rest of our classes. The day wasn't that bad and I already made two new friends. I was surprised with how well it went.
