Namjoon's POV

I try to catch up with the girl. Abigail. I remind myself. She has a name. She looks back at me and I take this chance to smile and wave at her. Probably not the best choice. I probably just creeped her out even more now. It's evident in the way she unlocks her door practically at the speed of light and then slams it shut.

I can hear all sorts of locks being locked.

Wow! Her house is huge! How is it possible for one person to even use that much space? I mean, I'm used to seeing huge houses since I work for the government, but those houses are occupied by huge families or creepy old serial killers. Not a woman who looks to be around 20 years old!

There's a winding stone path leading from the front of the house to the backyard lined with immaculately trimmed hedges there are huge, towering oak trees at the front. If I lean over far enough I can see a huge pool with a swim up bar situated at the middle.

As for the house itself, it has to be at least 5 stories high. If I was just driving by and only got a quick glance at it I would have thought that it was some fancy hotel.

I walk up to the door and reach up my hand to knock.

Boom.
Boom.
Boom.
Boom.

I wait. And I wait. And I wait some more. Eventually I get tired of waiting and knock again, louder this time.

Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!

"What do you want?" I hear someone call from inside.

"Ummm."

Think of something you idiot! Quickly!

"I work at the pizza place right over there."

I reply, gesturing over my shoulder towards the general direction of my workplace.

"Good for you," she says sarcastically, "but that doesn't explain why you've been following me around all day and just showed up at my door step."

Damn it! I really should have come up with a plan first.

"Uh. You forgot your dipping sauce," I say and hold out a sweet & sour package.

Good thing I had that in my pocket.

"I didn't order any dipping sauce."

Oh. Never mind.

You know... In training to be an agent, they really should teach improv. That would be a great skill to have right now.

"Are you you sure? I distinctly remember you ordering dipping sauce."

"Nope, I didn't. But I'll take it anyways."

Abigail grabs the dipping sauce from my hand and then slams the door shut and locks all of those locks again.

Well. There's no point in knocking on her door again and my shift is already over so I call a cab and then sit on the curb waiting for it to come. Meanwhile it starts to rain. And it rains harder. And harder. Eventually there is a huge downpour and even some hail mixed in too. I'm still there 15 minutes later with no cab.

Bzzzt.
Bzzzt
Bzzzt.

My phone is ringing in my pocket.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hi. Mr Kim?"

"That's me."

"Yes. Well. I'm sorry but it seems that there will be no cab coming to pick you up since the weather is to dangerous for driving in."

What!?

I angrily hang up on him and stuff my phone in my pocket. That's the thing about cell phones. The biggest problem with them is that angrily pressing the 'end call' button doesn't have the same exhilarating effect that slamming the phone down did.

Then I hear a door slowly creak open.

"Do you want to come in until the rain slows down a bit?"

"Yes please. Thank you."

"Yeah, whatever." She replies.

"So... How did you end up working at a pizza place if you have 5 years of extended schooling, an IQ of 148, and speak English, French, Korean, Spanish, German, Russian, and that other language you said?"

"First of all, the other language was Italian. And second, I'm just working at the pizza place until I can find a better job which is surprisingly hard to do. Alright my turn. Hmmm... Why is a girl like you living in a huge house like this alone?"

"Well, my parents were worried about me living in an apartment all by my self so they thought it would be better to live in a mansion all alone instead so they're helping me pay for it. Plus extra security measures." She replied smoothly.

"Fair enough. It's your turn now."

"Alright, why did you smile at me this morning when I yelled at you?"

"Ummm... Well.... I just- I- I didn't know what else to do. I was shocked that a girl like you could speak like that. Okay, now then, what's at the top of your bucket list?"

"Well, I'd like to go on a road trip with out a destination, just get in the car with some friends and a suitcase ant then see where we end up."

"But what if you get lost? Or you can't find anywhere to eat or sleep?"

"That's the point, it's an adventure, you never know where you'll end up. Okay, my turn to ask you a question. Do have a girlfriend?"

What!? Why would she want to know that? Is she interested in me? Would I be interested in her of she was?

"Nope. I don't."

"Really? Wow. I'm surprised. Where I come from a guy like you would never go a week without a girlfriend."

"What about you. Do you have a boyfriend?"

"Yup"

Oh.
Wait a minute, why do I care? I shouldn't, I can't get close to the suspects.

"Hahahahaha!" She burst out laughing." You should've seen your face! It was priceless! I was just kidding. I'm single. I like you, you're nice. What're you doing tomorrow night?"
