Namjoon's POV

"So, what do you want to do? We still have a games room, a living room, 1 bathroom, my bedroom, and a dance studio."

"Can we go to the games room?"

"Yeah, it's over here. Follow me."

Abigail led me down a hall way and then turned left at the end. We entered a room full of table games like ping pong, air hockey, and pool. There were shelves of board games like scrabble, snakes and ladders, chess, checkers, and decks of cards too.

"Do you want to play air hockey against me? I'm the best at it. I've beaten everyone I've ever played."

"Well then, apparently you've never played me."

Well, that just made me more determined to beat her. We walked over to the table and faced each other.

I pushed the puck towards her net. She blocks it without even breaking eye contact. Then she slams it, hard, towards my side of the table.

Ding.

Wait a minute. What? She just scored a goal. That can't be right.
15 minutes we were almost finished the game with 2-9.

In Abigail's favour.

She makes eye contact with me and I try to look away but I can't. The deep hazel colour of her eyes with little flecks of gold in them hold me there as though they have some sort of power over me.

She's been acting different towards me all morning. Hoseok, my roommate, always says that I talk in my sleep. I wonder if I said something last night. But we we're 3 floors apart.

We stay like that for a while. Staring into each other's eyes. I don't even notice when she moves her hand towards the puck. But then I hear a ding. And just like that I lost.

We both stand there. Still looking at each other. But now it isn't like it was before. It's more of an awkward silence. She looks down and breaks it.

"Ummm. So what do you want to do now? I was thinking maybe we could play cards?"

"Okay. I know a game called golf that we can play."

"Sure. That sounds fun."

She walks over to the big book shelf and takes out a deck of cards. We sit down at the table and she hands them to me. I start to shuffle the cards as I explain the game.

"So we each get 6 cards and you put them in 2 rows, one above the other so there are 3 at the top and 2 at the side ............ So. Do you think you're ready to play?"

"Yup."

"Okay great. Oh, one more thing, as soon as you flip over the last card, the game ends. Everyone else flips over their last cards and everyone has to count their points then."

"So. Where do you come from?" Abigail asks me.

"I'm from a small town in southern Ontario. What about you?"

"I grew up here."

"Wow. I just moved here 5 years ago with my parents when I was 17. Does this area have a history of floods?"

"Not for the past 21 years."
