(Dan's POV)
There was a slight breeze blowing as I took my routine walk down a backroad near my house. The smell of freshly cut grass hit my nose and the dimmed sunlight fell across my cheeks. I'm officially 18 years old, now. Nobody can tell me what to do anymore! Yet the slight twinge of sadness made its way into my heart as I thought of the old memories I had tried so hard to bury.
Before I knew it, I had traveled way beyond my normal route and somehow found myself in a corner of town I'd never seen before. The cracked stone of a nearby wall felt foreign to me as I glanced about for someone to ask for directions from. It seemed like an eternity before I finally caught a glimpse of another potential human being. I frantically waved them over but just as they turned and saw me, our eyes met and they bolted.
"Wait! Please! I just need directions!" I yelled after them, sighing with no avail. Maybe I should just try walking home?(A/N: I'm not sure where I'm going with this book but feel free to comment if you think I should continue!
