It was the first snow of the season. It wasn't even snowing heavily, just light snow. Everyone would come out and check out the majestic snow as couples kiss each other, yet one person was crying. That first snow of the season was the last time she would see snow in America.
"Hannah, quickly pack up. We need in leave in a few hours" her mother called her from the kitchen.
She quickly wiped her tears and went to pack her stuff. She recently got accepted to her dream college, Yale, and was so happy to go. One day though, Hannah's mom got news that her mom is sick back in Korea and they need to move over there. She wanted to stay back but her loyalty to her mom made her come along.
"When you get to Korea, you're going to use your Korean name not your American one ok" her mother said when she went down to the front door with her stuff.
"I know mom. 'They won't be able to say your name'" Hannah said imitating her mom.
"You still know it right. Your Korean name is Lee Eun So" her mother said.
"Yeah, yeah. Let's get out of here" Hannah said while walking out of the house quickly. If she stayed longer, the memories would come back and it would be harder for her to leave. She and her mom went to the airport and boarded the plane. Throughout the plane trip, she had to fill out paper work for her new college with was one of the top three or SKY in Korea.
"Mom what do I write here" Hannah said turning to her mom. Her mom looked at the paper. The application asked for her dad. That was a hard question since she never saw her dad. Apparently, he died according to her mom.
"Just put N/A their" her mom said.
"But it says here that even if I'm not living with my father anymore I should still put it. At least you remember his name right" Hannah said angrily. The fact that she was moving was getting to her and she was venting it over her application.
"I don't remember ok. I always told you this. I don't remember your father's name" her mother said almost in tears since her daughter brought up her sad memories. The plane ride continued with occasional bickering between mother and daughter but they stopped when they arrived in Korea. Outside the airport, Hannah and her mom met up with her grandmother.
"Puff" Hannah spat at the ground. Seriously, can a sick person still come out and wait for someone at the airport. She knows that she is rude but she had lived in America for like her whole life and has never really gotten close with her grandmother. Her grandmother immediately hugged her mother and Hannah stood behind them looking at the scene. Her grandmother than turned to her and gave her a hug, yet something was different. Her grandmother hugged her mom full of affection, and when it came to her, it was a quick hug. It was like she was disgusted by her and Hannah does not know why. She and her mom went to their new house, which in technically her grandmother's house. The only good thing was that it was bigger than her old home since her grandmother has "connections". Anyways, being in this new house just didn't suit her tastes and she decided to explore Korea and find something about it that makes her want to stay. She just walked a few blocks away from her now new house and found something very peculiar. It was a boy, about her age, climbing over a fence to abandoned house with these black wings on. "
What is this boy doing when Halloween has already passed?" Hannah said and approached him.
