Chapter 13

The bell door rang, I got up off of the couch and skillfully went in and out between the table trying to avoid knocking over anything and ruining the night. I run to the front door, doing exactly what I did when I saw Brett up close for the first time, the first time I opened the door to him. The first time I realized how hot he actu- Wait..... What.

I unlock the door, "Leo!" I shout jumping from the door and hug him. Leo, my old school friend, he moved a mile or so away so he couldn't go to our school anymore, it was a shame, and we never really saw each other as my mum hated him and his mum hated me. Okay, I'll put my hands up we were in the same bed but for sleeping purposes, nothing more, we were watching a movie and wanted to be warm and comfy.

"Hey Tal, I see you've missed me." He said hugging me in tight, He is the only one to call me Tal. Otherwise death my fork in the eye. I mean....

"Only a little bit though." I say pulling away from the hug, "How long has it been?"

"7 months?" 

"Wow, too long," He says rubbing his hand around the back of his neck.

"Come on, I set up a load of food and movies." Grabbing his hand I drag him through to the living room. We both sit down and I set up the first movie: The Hunger Games.

The 29th of November was now swiftly approaching, it was in 1 day. Tomorrow. I had to perform in front of the entire school that song. Why did I agree to this?

I need to find out why Seth's eye was black, well now more blue-ish with a bit of yellow making it look yuck.

I cringed ever so slightly, it wasn't a pretty sight whatsoever.

Walking around the school yard, I look around to find either Seth or my friends. I want to find out why he has the beaten up eye, but I might need some back up. Looking across, I see Fae sat on the bench reading her book. 

"Hey Fae, Fancy doing some investigating?" I say walking up and over to her. She turned to me and smirked. "Of course, Elementary dear Watson." She commented putting a bit of Sherlock in there, her latest obsession.

She slings her bag over her back and walks to me linking our arms together. We walk off in the direction of Brett. "So who are we snooping on?" She said looking puzzled at me. "Wait, that didn't make sense. Who are are digging information about?" She said looking slightly more satisfied. "Why Seth has a black eye." 

"He deserved it." She commented chirpily as we walked up the small hill over to him. He was with his friends around the football pitch, Boys and their balls.

Wait. 

That sounded really wrong. 

Ignore me.

"Hey Brett, there's Tally and her friend! You know The hot one Tally?" One of his 'friends' I presume shouted over to Brett. "Hey Tal!" He came running over from the smaller split off groups. "What can I do for you today." Rather bluntly he stated running one of his hands through his perfect hair - Wait, No.

"We've just- urhm ekh, well we-we neede-ed want-ted to find about some st-tuff." Since when did I stutter?

"Eh, What? English please Tallehs." He smirked at me with that adorable smirk. Stop brain.

"Ignore her, We just wanted to know if you had anything to do with or know anything about why Seth has a black eye?" Fae said elbowing me slightly in the side signalling for me to shut up.

"Oh Seth? Yeah I do know some stuff."

"Care to tell us?" 

"Nope." Smirking again, he turned on his heel, "Might want to sort out that stuttering babe." He said awfully cocky.

"Can he like not." I say half pouting half frowning. 

"Come on Tally," Fae said smirking as well. What is it with everyone smirking lately?

"I'm not a pig, don't call me babe!" I shout turning around to see his friends pushing him slightly.

"Good come back, if not a little late." Fae tugged at my arm. "If we can't get it out of him, we'll have to ask the person that got the brute of it. Seth."

"Lets go then. Before I change my mind and decide to give him a pair of black eyes." Commenting I walk faster with Fae still clinging to my arm. As we began approaching him Fae stopped suddenly. Well thanks.

"Gees, tell me next time before you stop, could've given me whip-lash." 

"Soz-" She turned me to face her. "-So, tell me before we get over there, what was that back there with the stuttering, and the not looking Brett in the eye kinda thing."

I look the side refusing to accept anything or say anything.

"His hair's curly and cute." I mutter out.

"Oh my God! You like him don't you!" She squealed shaking my arm. "Eh I don't know." My cheeks flush a tinted red, I can feel the blood just flowing up to my cheeks. "Ssh. I don't know if I do." I say looking down to the floor not looking her in the eye otherwise knowing me I'd blurt out a un-dying love for someone who I ...... don't like like that. Do I?

"Don't say anything Fae. I'll die, his brothers would mock me forever." I look at her this time. "You know I wouldn't Tally, You're my bestie. But I wouldn't mind being invited over to, oh I don't know, See if Brett may like you...." She trailed off at the end. "Sure thing." I pulled my phone from my pocket quickly texting Heather;

Hey, is it okay if Fae comes around tonight?

"I've sent a message to Heather seeing if you can."

"Yaaay! Now we snoop."

*Magic time jump;)*

"Be quiet, he's next door." I hiss at Fae as she started singing 'You Love Brett' 

"Okay, okay. Anyway. I managed to catch Seth at the end of my music lesson.  And he said they came at his blind eye, he seems to have no problem admitting it now, And they just punched him, Well he said more like got a boulder and smacked it against his face, then Said' Don't you ever hurt her again' Then went away."

Wow. Deep.

 Sorry for the all so cruddy chapter which is short, I'm trying to write all of my chapters with 2000+ words, but this chapter is more of a filler so I've found it harder! I hope you enjoy,
