"Hey Edward?" I whispered looking over at the other bed.
"Hmm.."he mumbled, rubbing his eyes.
"You wanna play 20 questions? That way you can try and find out who inspired me?"
He sat up, fully awake by then.
"Sure! Ok, umm is it mustang?" He asked, not much enthusiasm in his voice.
"Nope."
"Is it a girl or a boy"
"Boy"
He thought for a moment, and then tilted his head.
"Actually, I don't want to know, I will find out eventually and I can't really think of anyone!" He said, flopping back onto his bed.
"Ok, goodnight Edward."
"You know you can call me Ed."
I smiled."goodnight Ed."
I fell asleep facing Ed's bed, a smile planted on my face. The soft pattering of the rain hit the window in a continuos pattern, soothing me.
I woke up some time later, thunder cracking in the sky. I pulled the sheets over my head, and closed my eyes shut tight.
Alphonse seemed to have noticed I was scared, because I heard him whisper my name. I lowered the sheets to hear another crack, and I pulled it right back over my head.
I heard Al's armor creak as he walked passed me, I am guessing to Edwards bed. I heard him whisper, and then go back to his spot by the window.
I started to shake as more thunder boomed, and my blankets were lifted off of my head.
"Hi Emma. You ok under there?" Ed said patting my head.
"Yeah I am-" thunder interrupted my sentence, and I put my hands over my ears.
Ed crawled in bed and hugged me to his chest.
"Ed, this is weird! What are you doing!" I said, feeling my face get hot.
He shushed me, and tightened his grip as thunder boomed louder, shaking the hotel.
I buried my face into his chest, feeling safer. Soon enough, the storm stopped. Ed's soft snoring echoed through the room, so I just decided to fall asleep in his arms.
I woke up, still in Edwards grasp. He was still asleep, so I wriggled out of his arms, grabbed my satchel, and pulled out my notebook and a pencil. Then I sat on the edge of the bed, and started on a picture of Ed's sleeping figure.
He woke up when I was almost finished, and he rubbed his eyes.
"Hold still!" I told him. He looked at my notebook then at me several different times.
"What are you doing?" He asked nervously.
"Drawing you. You looked so innocent when you were sleeping, so I thought it would look good with my other memories in here! And, there isn't any other thing I could do." I stated matter-of-factly.
He stared at me, and his face turned slightly red. I burst out laughing.
"Anyways, I am done so we can go 'kay Eddie?" He looked at me in udder shock. He nodded his head so I grabbed my satchel and pulled Alphonse up and we headed down the stairs. I dropped the keys on the front desk and we walked out of the hotel.
"Go ahead and get some food, I am going over there to that tree to draw this town!" I said happily, skipping off into the distance. I settled into the tree and took my notebook from my satchel, as well as some oil pastels.
As soon as I was finished,I looked at the paper, oranges, reds, greens, and blues danced around the pages. Two figures caught my eye in the middle of the page on the path. I looked up to see Ed and Alphonse heading towards me.
Edward was looking down, while Alphonse looked straight ahead. Soon they got near me, Edward opened his mouth to talk.
"Are you finished?" I nodded.
"Ok let's go." he said with sass in his voice.
I tilted my head and raised my eyebrow.
"What's wrong? Everything ok?" I asked, placing my hand on Ed's shoulder.
"Nothing, were fine." Ed sighed, looking away from me. I couldn't help but feel that something was off.
We walked to the train station and Ed paid for our tickets. Soon, we were off back to central station.
The two brothers never said a word to each other the whole ride. Finally, I asked Ed again.
"Are you sure everything is fine? You two are acting as if you were mad at each other. So tell me what is wrong." I demanded.
"I told you that everything was fine, so don't ask again! Got it?" Ed growled, making me jump. I looked down, feeling hurt by his sudden outburst.
"I'm sorry. I won't ask anymore." I said turning towards the window.
Edward and Alphonse walked with me to the hotel, and I walked in, before they did, so they were left outside. I stopped, they hadn't come any closer to the door.
"Brother, why would you yell at her! She will never like you if you do that! If you are nice like me she might like you!"so this is why they were mad at each other. Boys.
I walked down the hall my room was in and unlocked my door. I threw my keys on the table and quietly shut the door. I sat in a chair and put my face in my hands. I chuckled to myself. Hey Amanda, can you see me now? Boys are already fighting over me!
I shook my head, and got up, and got some more money and my keys. I opened the door and walked out, slamming the door behind me. I walked across the street to a restaurant that I ate at often, often enough that the employees know what I eat.
"Hey Emma! How is it going today?" I smiled, the manager Carmen led me to my usual table in the corner.
"Pretty good." I got my food, stew, and tomatoes on the side.
