“Really? Dallas Winston is offering to do me a favor?” I asked skeptically.

“I wanted to talk anyways.” He said.

“Ok then, pick me up as soon as possible, I’ll try to get out early.” I said.

“Sure, I’ll be there in fifteen minutes.” He said and hung up. My mind began to wander, what does Dallas want to talk about? I thought. I pushed the nurse button and in a few minutes a nurse was in my room.

“Yes?”

“My ride will be here in like ten minutes can you check us out?” I asked.

“Sure, you’re all set, just put a jacket on the baby; we don’t want her getting sick.” She said and walking out of the room and taking the papers off of the door as she left. Thankfully, I had brought a light jacket for Nikki and I picked her up and put on her jacket and placed her in the small car seat carrier. I got dressed into sweats and a tee shirt and some sneakers. Nikki began squirming in her seat and I popped a pacifier in her mouth and she quieted down again. The walk outside took almost ten minutes and when I excited the hospital Dallas was already sitting in the bar by the curb, smoking.

“Please put that out.” I said.

“Why?” He asked.

“I don’t want Nikki being around smoke.” I said. He sighed and threw the cigarette out the window. I strapped Nikki into the back seat and got into the front seat. “So what do you want to talk about?” I asked.

“We’ll talk about it when we get to the house all right?” He asked looking over to me. I looked into his eyes and felt myself getting lost in them. I shook my head.

“Yeah, sure.” I said. I really wanted us to work out to find a way…to find any way possible. We got to the house and I got out of the car and got Nikki’s carrier and walked into the house. I patted my pocket and took out the key and opened the door. I smiled happy to be home. I took Nicole out of her carrier and took out a bottle of formula. I sat down on the small couch and began feeding her. “Let’s talk.” I said with a smile.

“So, I kind of want you to be my girl again.” He said with a shrug.

“Are you sure or are you going to leave me again?” I asked calmly.

“I’m sure; I missed all of our good times together.” He said with a smirk.

“I missed you more than you know, Dallas.” I said with a smile.
